Did you intend for the Storm Ravens to be able to Planetfall from the spacecraft?
They have Planetfall so could, but are not on the transport list for either spacecraft.

Would they take one (obviously at least two) of the six Thunderhawk slots?
Or might they fill armoured vehicle slots. Twenty Planetfalling Storm Ravens
might be overwhelming?

That seems pretty potent.

Avoids AA bubble on arrival. Place anywhere (ok pre-plotted) at any stage in turn,
activate on Init 1+ so guarantied arrival, no BMs from earlier shooting in arrival turn,
engage range of 50 cm. Fairly potent FF, skimmer, OK armour. OK not so great if
enemy has reasonable AT(/MW/TK) on overwatch, and the transport is destroyed
along with its passengers. And a respectable upgrade cost in an activation count
game.

How has it gone in play testing?

Hi!

One question: the modifier to the activation roll in order to the distance to an enemy formation, how does it interact with the self planetfall rule from the Storm Ravens?

I think it shouldn't apply because the formation is out of the table at the activation moment. Rigth?

I recently played a game using EUK BA against RichL, I realise it’s a different list but the similarities might make the feedback useful.

Death Company:
300pts for a unit without upgrades is too expensive. I like the attempts to remedy this with the free chaplain and 25pts jump packs, however jump packs really are necessary and the chaplain isn’t a great value upgrade for Death Company as they don’t suffer too badly from BMs, being fearless don’t NEED Inspiring to win combats at avoid hack downs, and already have INV as standard. 300-325 points is still too many points for a mandatory formation, it also makes BA pretty much unplayable using the minigeddon format.

An option could be to remove the Death Company Dreadnought as a unit entry, and simply state that all units added to a Death Company formation gain Fearless and Invulnerable. This simplifies the list slightly, makes the Dreadnought upgrade a worthwhile 50pts, and most importantly makes the option of taking the free Rhinos credible. It could be such a credible option* that making the jumpacks upgrade free might even become possible (removing an awkward 25pts).

Ideally I’d like to see the formation cost <300pts, but at least the above would provide a formation that has the mobility it NEEDS without having to buy upgrades and makes them more playable in a format that doesn’t allow Thunderhawks (minigeddon).


*I’d be tempted to actually keep the DC mounted in their rhinos at the end of a turn ready to engage *GASPS*

Agreed. took BA to a minigeddon tourney once, and they were a unplayable for this reason. Although tbh it was nice to lose at EA for a reason other than remarkable ineptitude.
