I'm not sure you'll get everyone to play only one variant at a time, I still think the targeted testing is a good idea. Perhaps 2-3 at once...Just a thought?

Why split playtesting effort between two lists though? It's not like there's that much going on at the moment so it would be better to focus all we can on getting one list finished and approved (which would be a big morale booster) and then move onto the next list, one at a time. It'll be a request for those that are willing to help (and really anyone with a SM army could proxy it as any other SM army with a little bit of counts as), obviously no one is forced to play or test any list they don't want to.

Our aim would be to get the first list, say Space Wolves, tested with the guideline minimum 6 battlereport playtests against approved lists posted up by 3 groups around the world. We don't know how long that will take as it entirely depends how long it takes to get the requisite number of battle reports up, but there would be a clear goal that we would be working towards and progress could be seen. Hopefully we could get all those lists tested and approved by then by I don't think a fixed time schedule is a good idea, as it could take less or more time than is estimated.

I think one at a time would be best but you could have the next list displayed so if you don't want to help with the first list you could submit reports of the next one in line...

Not sure if *Apocrypha of Skaros has been getting any attention. No one but Simulated Knave seems to play it - if at all. How do you feel about it SK? Could it move to Fan list? I see you're focussed on your Heresy list nowadays....

Actually, I'd been hoping to use Vassal to get some Apocrypha-ing in (basically rotating between the Apocrypha, Night Lords and the Heresy list). Morgan and Frogbear's group played a bunch with it way back when. The intent is certainly for it to see play, and the intended role is at least somewhat unique (ally-light air-light old-school-feeling Space Marines).

I think it has a place, even if that place is experimental right now.

EDIT: Also, I think jimmy's Raptor list'd be a fine addition to the Compendium.

Guys,

I think it's up to Dobbsy to provide the direction people are looking for to get us rolling again. The past couple of years has seen the new lists take form and the changes to the Codex list played extensively in normal games and tournaments. Whether Dobbsy puts it to a vote or simpler gives us guidance on what he needs done is up to him. I am keen though to support testing of all lists for Marines to get these lists to the required standard. Looking forward to playing some more games and taking heaps of pix.

Cheers
Aaron

If Dobsy gets a post up specifying what we're looking for I might be able to help. I'm in the Upper Midwest in the US and have a huge variety of forces for Eldar, IG, CSM, Daemons, Tyranids, and Orks. I'm currently building a gaming group around using my figures and we could easily help push forward a specific list over the course of a few months. Figured I'd throw that out there.
