Hmm....i would look at the still existing Space Wolves lists out here. And perhabs wait until end of this year where a new Space Wolves Codex is rumoured to arrive.

Geoff,

Looks good so far mate, as we discussed before you posted this, I think that Wulfen should be part of a larger list. And would you allow SW  to take any other allies apart from the Wulfen. And what sort of numbers are you looking at with the detachments?

Cheers
Aaron

I'm still keen on seeing a 13th company list, I am also keen on seeing a Space Wolves list development as well.  If both were developed as separate lists at the same time that would be great.  13th company should be an army in its own right not a detachment of a space wolves list because the army is so divergent as to be completely separate.

Even if people wait for the new SW codex to work on a space wolf list its worth doing 13th Company now as there is very little chance of GW updating it ever.

Crazy, I didn't expect that.  Hopefully my beloved Space Wolves become more inline with codex marines.  Its bad having an assault army that can be smashed to shreds by a single unit of tooled up vanilla marines with a character and crazy traits.

This is why I think they'd work better as an "ally" list, taken from the "One third" points for various Imperial Armies.

Fluff wise I just can't see 13th company working closely with other imperial forces.  They are going berserk with the curse of wolfen and fielding chaos kit, the imperials would probably just try and kill them.

Indeed, the 13th Co. doesn't really cooperate.

From what I understand, almost all of them are supposed to have some sort of psychic ability as well.  I don't know how that would be worked into Epic (if at all) but it may be worth looking into.

From my review of the Eye of Terror articles in White Dwarf, the 13th Company *does* seem to show up to help Imperial Forces "in trouble", as opposed to waging war on their own.

Now, after the fight is over, they don't act too friendly, but they do "help out" during battle.

Sounds like "allies" to me.

After reading their entry in Codex Eye of Terror i think that the 13th Company would be best as allies for existing imperial armies.
The only vehicles the 13th Company uses are Bikes. They don't even use Droppods.
Thunderhawks COULD be possible but i doubt so. I guess they only travel through "The Gate".

I have played around with writing a 13th company list in the past. I thought about allowing formations with Rune Priests to re-teleport. I.E they teleport at the begining of the battle then the next turn they can teleport again. This is how I wanted to get around the problem of no vehicles. I have never tested this though in any game, it was purely something I was kickin around.

Well I think everyone should cool it until 'marine month' and playtest some guard stuff instead :)
