Used this method to come up with the brilliantly balanced ?'75cm 3BP MW' proposal for the Baneblade did you Blarg? ?No seriously, it's an awesome idea... lets do it!

First of all I want to thank you for throwing that suggestion at my feet and forcing me to defend it.  It made me go back to my calculations and review them so I could mount a heavy, math-based defence of my suggestion.  Once I started to look at the stats I realised I made a mistake in one of my base assumptions.  Realising that mistake is going to ripple through my calculations for the other IG super heavies and the imperial titan weapons, solving several dogged problems.

What I did for my suggestion for the Baneblade was to compare it to the Shadowsword.  Both are 3DC WE with equal points costs and similar stats, save the FF rating which I can account for in my calculations.  The main reason for my outlandish suggestion is because I valued the Volcano Cannon as a monster weapon.

Until I just now went back and factored in the "Fixed Forward Arc" restriction.  Ooops...

In light of that correction I now change my suggestion that the "Mega Battle Cannon" on the Baneblade be changed to:

Range: 75cm
Firepower: MW4+

This, along with the addition of the 2x TL Heavy Bolters should make the Baneblade equal to the Shadowsword.  My apologies for any problems me and my errant calculations have caused.

<<< --- >>>

This realisation of the mistake on the Volcano Cannon will ripple through the IG super heavies, making them a lot easier to balance to each other without going to extreme measures.

This will also help with my calculations with the Imperial titan weapons.  Without the Fixed Forward Arc firing arc restriction the Volcano Cannon comes out to be a monster weapon, and I was having real problems making it fit among the other weapons.  If I put a special rule on it saying that it must be carapace mounted, forcing it to be Fixed Forward Arc, it should nestle in rather nicely.  I'm hoping that the same will be true for the Plasma Destructor.

A lot of these would have been caught years ago if someone back then had showed interest in my work and helped me check what I did, but nobody was inclined.  Only recently have I been forced to revisit my work and only then have I found these errors.

Again, sorry for any problems I have caused with my incorrect calculations, and thank you for forcing my hand.

I'd be very interested if you would run your comparison system over the two new IG Super-Heavies in the Death Korps list... feel free to start another thread if you do.
