What happens to drop pod after it has attacked the close vicinity and the marines within have disembarked? Does it
a) disappear
b) remain where it is, as part of formation it transported
c) remain where it is, as independent formation able to shoot one target

I would go for a) but found no direct ruling of that. It would also mean that it cannot be used as cover. b) would make it quite cumbersome for the transported formation, and c) would be quite cheap extra activation..

It dissapears, unfortunately.

I would prefer a different solution, but it would require many more models. :)

The drop pod rules are completely dorked up.

As E&C says, the answer is a).  The drop pod is basically just a marker for placement and after that it has no further effect on the game.
