Often I wonder on dark nights should marine vehicles be 65 points and LR 85.

Though as upgrades for Land Raiders and Terminators I have extensively tested them at 75 and found they are very balanced.

Interesting TRC. I might trial 75 too.

Ok, I don't understand what's the problem there... Variant lists have units that the main list does not.

Sorry Hena, I was talking more along the line that you can't balance a sub-list without first balancing the main one and IMO variant lists shouldn't really be tested, because if you test without the Main list being complete you have imbalanced testing for the variant.
But that's just my take on it.

With Devs it is to cheap. But every time I have tried it with both land Raiders and Terminators it as been fine. Note others use a similar value in their white scars lists.

We managed to solve the conundrum (devs/terminators) witht eh Salamanders list, I think quite elegantly.

Well, isn't this an old debate. I played this one out well over a year ago, with the same ideas as you have Dobbsy. I agree with you totally, 4 Raiders are not a strong formation and suffer badly against other armoured formations. They dont save that well and when they take hits they become suppressed easily. I have been running with a modified core list which allows aditional changes and have found that 6 raiders perform much better and seem to survive alot better than the existing formations. Here is the battle rep with the basic changes Batrep

There is still some way to go before you can convince people and we are certainly hampered by the lack of an AC and the time it is taking the ERC to produce some results. I look forward to following this one.

Cheers
Cal
