I've posted this on the Speciallist Games site as well...

Played a game last night with myself vs Lalonde's Ork horde. I'll try and post a bat rep later on today (or get Lalonde to...). Anyway a few things cropped up during the game.....

1) The +1 to Marshall is broken. I was a right dirty git and used this several times to retain the initiative and get a automatic activation.
2) We weren't too sure about broken Monoliths and portals. We played it so you couldn't use the portal if the unit was broken.

The game went fairly well with both of us making a couple of mistakes as we hadn't played for a while and were both using new lists. The overall feeling was that Necrons aren't broken, but they aren't exactly balanced compaired to the published lists in the books. I think Phasing Out and the Necron ability could do with a tinkering with as at the end of the game, I still had most of my army on the table (bar one destroyer unit) whilst Lalonde had little itty bitty bits left. So in a Victory Point scenario (like how our game ended) I would win.

For people intrested I took the following:-

Warrior Formation with 3 Imortals
Warrior Formation with 2 Imortals
Destroyer Formation with 2 Heavy Destoryers
Destroyer Formation with 2 Heavy Destroyers
Flayed Ones with Lord
Oberlisk Formation
Monolith
Pylon
Aeonic Orb
Tomb Complex

Broken Monoliths...

I asked this quetion a while ago.  
You ARE able to use the portal even if the monolith formation is broken.
