Adding more units puts the list back at the beginning of development and need to restart battle reports for submission for approval. Just puts the list in a never completed state. Better to make a new list that has all the new stuff and finish approval on this one as is.

Also prevents the list from turning into some type of kitchen-sink

That being said, and I don't want to derail this thread (especially with the amazing work atension has been putting in here) we can sublimate much of those types of requests by creating a non-tournament focused kitchen sink list. Worked in Astartes land when I did it.

Yesterday I had a game using a 5k Sautekh army list. I faced the fanmade Tallarn list so I didn't make a batrep. Anyway, these are my thoughts.

-Tomb complex
-Warriors in Ghost Arks (with 2 annihilation barges)
-Inmortal phalanx (8 units, cryptek, 3 spyders)
-Warrior phalanx (8 units, overlord, cryprek, 3 spyders)
-Warrior phalanx (8 units, spyder)
-5 obelisk
-5 doomsday arks
-3 monolith
-3 monolith
-3 monolith
-3 monolith
-6 flayed ones
-Aeonic orb
-Night Scytes
-Night Scytes
-Doom Scytes
-Doom Scytes
-Night Shroud Bombers

With oldcrons being my main army for a while, and having played a couple of games with Sautekh, I wanna say that I LOVE the list. Broken portals made me think more carefully about when and where I need to engage enemy units.

Tallarn was a terrible match for me. He had a lot of units in garrison, including some Leman Russ Conquerors. He occuped all his half of the board, so he prevents my teleports and had a lot of support in my engagements.

In the games I played so far, I have not found a use for the Ghost Ark formation. Maybe in my next Game (probably vs Scarab in a mirror match) I'll test an ark heavy focused list without portals, to see the diferences between the style of both lists.

I LOVE doomsday arks and all the flyers, by the way. I had to say it.

Any units that need testing? I have models for almost everything in the list, so I could help.

Yeah tallarn could be an especially difficult opponent at larger points as you can spread out skirmisher formations to lock down large areas of the table. However they lack the heavy firepower to deal with all that Necrons RA

Most units have been thoroughly tested, really just need more battle reports.

Could use some against tyranids, gargants, imperial titans, knight world, Tau, skitarii or
LatD. Have mostly marines (various flavours), Imperial guard, Saim Han, Biel-tan, Squats and I think one or two Chaos marines. Will put together the proper list soon, need to grab links amd consolidate all the ones that have been done so far anyways.

Hey there. Just started playing with this list. I will endeavour to do some bat reps. Currently played two games both against Eldar. One was beil tan one was I think alaitoc. I have a Tyranid army and titan legions so can try them for opponents too. But after playing a couple games realising my army needs fine tuning a bit with more monoliths (currently only have two) and a few other types of units. I don't have models for everything on the list yet. Strongest unit so far I've found is possibly destroyers and flayed ones. triach Praetorian is also pretty decent. Had an interesting scenario last game where my Praetorian and ctan had to assault out of tomb complex on turn three to prevent a blitz victory for my opponent. Opponent formation was guardians with heavy weapon support two wrathguard AND the friggin Avatar. Luckily for me I still had a pylon shot which could just see the avatar through cover for a sneaky shot to prep the assault. I hit then critted the Avatar, laying BM on all Eldar in LOS. Assaulted with my Praetorian + ctan + 2 triach stalker and won the assault!
Some questions we had
1) was the Living Metal rule changed from original list right? Is this a buff because you took away the phase out rule?
2) does the critical hit for the Aeonic Orb also hit the orb? If so for consistency can you add that to the notes as it does mention it for the tesseract vault, if not perhaps make that part of the notes too.

Just remember, models don't do anything a paper cut out doesn't accomplish. You don't need a model to test as long as it is clear what it is a proxy for to your opponent. I eventually got to the point I didn't do play testing with anything but butcher paper+markers for terrain and paper chits (with unit pictures) because it was simply easier to do stress builds with (now I'd just do Vassal games but I digress)

1) There is a long history to the living metal rule. The version in the approved list was updated about 2 years ago after the Sautekh list entered the end of development for approval submission. Previous to its current incarnation as just counting as a 4+ Inv save it was similar to the one in the current Sautekh list but slightly different in handeling TK attacks.

2) Yes it should have the same verbage as the Vault. I will update that.

Ok thanks for the info.
Will play again today, make a list but unfortunately my opponent is playing Eldar so it might not be that useful.

Not that it's a huge thing but tomb spider notes has "leder" instead of "leader"

It's related to the Covfefe rule

Did various Battles against Space Marines (Blood Angels) and 1 and a half against Tyranids. Won the solo engagement by far and the 1/2 was with/against Blood Angels - kinda Scenario - This one I lost because of VP. What do You need in terms of Information? I will try to gather them.

Ideally a battle report should include the following:

1. Standard battle reports are done using the standard tournament senario.
2. List and points breakdown of both forces.
3. Picture of the board terrain and deployment.
4. Each round should be documented with who won the strategy roll.
A play by play of each activation and results. Finally include rally roll synopsis.
5. End of game scoring breakdown what Victory Conditions where achieved by who.
6. A post mordem commenting on general player dice luck and hindsight strategy errors.

The more picures the better. The more detail around turn activations the better.
