Mr. Spock, Cdr Data, etc., etc. ... Is the Epic Scale Imperator Titan actually closer to the scale of a Reaver ?  And a F/W 40K Warhound = an Imperator ?  O.K, I expect a report in a few hours ! :O

Imperial Armor 3 states that a Warhound Titan, Mars pattern, is 14m high 'at rest'. At 1:285 scale, a Warhound should therefore be 5 cm tall.

My FW Warhound is 4 cm tall. My Imperator is about 14 cm tall.

O.K. that's a good start ... Thanks O-man !  I know in the fluff over the years they talked about sizes ... And we have talked about this on on posts here before.  So a Warhound model in epic scale is close ...  :)

I thought the theory was that the Inf/Cav/Walkers/Vehicles were 1/300 and the SH/Preatorians/Titans were closer to 1/600.

I think I remember something like that ... even though scale creep ... So with what we know ... What would be the real size if they were in 1/300th ?  ???

That used to be the case, but ForgeWorld have standardised the sizes based on the old undersized models.

Thus, Titans which were once 1:500 scale are now 1:300 scale, because FW wanted to produce Titans in 40k scale and didn't want to make the Warhound two feet tall. :D

So according to the current background, the Titan models are now the correct size.

How crew are supposed to fit inside the SG Warhound's head though, I don't know. :D

As well as in rhino. They are shrunk when they get past that space-time gate located at entrance points.

Another possibility is that they are playing with long range RC tools and guys in head are just muppets.  :D

I have seen one too and still I am not impressed.

Rt era land speeder drivers as passengers in new rhino might just do it, but even then there are drivers that should get in too, and all those guns.

And i always wonder if marines would break the folding seats in a rhino....  Or could you lock your power armour in a sitting position without anything to rest on?

Well the most sensible thing would definitely simply be some kind of locking system that fixates the Marine to the Rhino in a standing position. Maybe some kind of lock in the backpack?

About the titan scale: Emperor titans were described as being up to 40 metres tall in the old TL Codex Titanicus IIRC. In 1:300 scale that'd translate into a roughly 13 cm tall model which isn't far off from the actual model.
How the heck you are going to fit 30 power armoured Marines in each leg bastion (as the rules allowed) is a very good question...

Stackable Infantry ™.  Adds a whole new meaning to snap fit marines.

So a Warhound should be 5 cms and an Imperator = 13cm ... What about a Reaver and Warlord ? ?And yes, the original Rhinos are too small ... the new E:A is closer to fitting 10 SMs. As I've said before, I commanded a Co. of 14 M113 APCs ('87-'89), the real world version of the Rhino(?). You could fit 11 tightly including the driver in the cockpit and TC (Track Cdr) in his hatch, plus 9 Grunts and all their equipment inside. It was tight ! ?IIRC, the seats didn't fold up. the metal "Benches" were along the outside walls on both side cover by a thin canvas pad. Folding seats would last about 2 minutes with troops loading and unloading at high speeds ! :D ?The troops hatch behind the TC's hatch (like on the Rhino) was usually open and troops from the chest up with weapons pointing out in all directions. And as in Vietnam, troops usually rode on top and only jumped back in if contact was made. ?Riding inside "buttoned up" was a death sentence if hit by a mine ... Usually the safest place in a firefight in prone on the ground. The M113 (and Rhino) can be quite fragile ! ?Class over ... now where's the rest on my Titan data !!! :O

IDF M113 vertion using middel bench - back to back sitting keeping the men off the walls :-) for equipment

length of m113 is 4.8 meters and width 2.6 meter - rhino for comparison is 6.6 X 4.5 so there is enough space...

That is a much better idea, but the IDF is known for it's practical approach !  Yes, the SMs would fit in the Rhino, but the models until the E:A version appear a bit too small ... :D
