Damnit, I just realised that the purple I'm using for my Tyranids are no longer stocked (i Dont think) and since moving it from the very old tall plastic pots with white rubbery lids to the new pots, I since mixed too much water into it ![]() Now that I am looking for a replacement of the paint, GW don't do it any more. I'm sure its a purple, but its not the Liche Purple. And not as dark as the Imperial Purple. Anyone know what it was called? And if I can get my hand on any of it? Its the second time now, I used Lightning Blue for my Tau and not realised they stopped that one. |

Lextar: You may want to try googling for coat d'arms paints supplied from Gladiator Games. This company was the original supplier of citadel paints and since they lost the franchise have started to sell the same colours they provided to GW only in LARGER pots for LESS money. 18ml for ?0.95. They recently dropped their prices as they were so successful!! ![]() D. |

yeah, they were the people I tried previously for the lightning blue, but according to their charts it would match up to high Elf Blue. Turned out it was much darker ![]() And their P&P cost me more than a single pot, so I got two. But like I said, the blue turned out much darker than I was hoping, so wasn't really that pleased ![]() Plus... I still need to know the name of the colour |

I still need to know the name of the colour Warlock Purple was the only other purple I remember outside of Imperial and Liche. I probably still have a bottle around somewhere, no idea of what kind of condition it's in though. The only complaint I've ever heard against Coat 'd Arms paint is that the color consistency between batches is not good. I believe this is because they measure by eye and not by weight when it comes to the dyes. |

Just get a mixing pot and match up the colour it is much less hassle. It's only the old metallics you can't do this with. |

Easier said than done. I'm still trying to get the right Lightning Blue. Definately not warlock purple, as this is border on the red side more. Liche Purple is almost right, but still a bit red. Need to be darker. It is R63 G49 B108 that I need |

Maybe if you mix a dark brown in the Liche Purple to make it darker with a more reddish hue it will work? |

hmm.... i hate it when colours look different on my two flatscreens (one is older). But it looks a bit like Royal Purple on one screen ![]() In the Vallejo paints, the Ultrmarine Blue looks more purple than blue, but by this chart, its a Sick Blue I think. I guess its to the mixing pots ![]() |

If push comes to shove you can probably just take a sample of the paint in question to a home renovations store that can custom mix and exact colour match for you. I know a few people who have done that here in town and a quart should cost you less than $15 or so... Or in other words dozens of times the quantity for about three time the price of the original. A few of us have even discussed getting a larger batch of a number of the old, out of print GW paints done up and re-bottling them and selling them over the net. |

Did they change the color of Lightning Blue? Cause this tiny little local game shop has 3 pots. I can't vouch for it's age or condition, but I've not had a problem with any of the paints I've bought from them. |

The_Real_Chris - London... I'm in Ipswich, but need to wait a month... consectari - USA, a bit far to post... what sort of pot is this lightning blue in? Is it the new kind, but with the screw on top? I can't remember when they discontinued it, but if its labelled Lightning Blue, it should be the one. |
