Good grief, the topic description sounds like an Ed Wood movie name... :p

Anyway, I'd been meaning to restart my long-suffering Chaos army for Epic, now that the new (old) sprues are about to be released. I originally aimed for an Iron Warriors army, but Aeronautica Imperialis has given me a new idea - a Dark Priesthood army.
These guys are Ad Mech turned bad, and they have a forgeworld on Xana II (well, according to the AI fluff, anyway) churning out Hell Talons and the like. Not quite: the Ad Mech, sad to say, constrains creativity, so some of the more enterprising chaps did a runner and set up shop in Xana II, which happens to be in the Eye of Chaos. Those nice chaos gods sent Mr. Abaddon to visit, and he was THRILLED with all the new toys they wanted to make for him. So he gave them $ and men and the planet, and they all lived happily ever after.

Which means my Dark Brotherhood have a militant arm in power armour (=space marines); troops from all factions, demanding daemon engines from the Priesthood and fighting with the Dark Army in the meantime, hoping to gain the favour of the techpriests(all four Chaos SM types); a vaste horde of slaves (beastmen) and servants and servitors (L&D); and of course, Chaos war machines. Every so often, they go off on raids for technology, material, daemons to bind in machines,etc.

For once, I should not be lacking troops - past Chaos purchases (9 SM era sprues and severl Beastmen, and 5 of the new Chaos sprue sets on preorder). But the machines are woefully lacking - 4 Tzeentch fliers and some Silver Towers; a handful of Slaanesh and Khorne war machines; and a single Banelord. One Defiler, two Doomwheels.
Any Land raiders or Rhinos would have to be converted; as would any ex-IG stuff....

And now to find a colour scheme.  :devil:

Nurgle is a regular visitor, ever since my first ever completed army (WHFB, so many years ago) was a Nurgley one. He should be getting some converted war machines for this force - should keep him happy.
Trouble is I LIKE Nurgle - I mean, he seems to be the only Chaos god who has a sense of humour (ok, so does Tzeentch, but that's warped). Remember the old, old fluff where Great Unclean Ones used to hum along to Slaaneshi noise marine tunes? Ah, the old days...

The grasshopper is considering mightily.

Incidentally, I forgot to mention I also have a sizeable Warmaster warband of Khornate daemons who will end up in this army as well.
What I really would like to get are Nurgle war engines, the missing Slaanesh knights and Khorne war engines (I have most, but not all) and my biggest gap in the collection, the Lord of Battles. I am planning a Vanlvlak reinterpretation (to use the GW-approved term  :devil:  :devil: ) of this, though.

So:
Black Priesthood of Xana II get:
Sorcerers and other characters
generic SMs and Havocs and Chaos squats (!) as militant force of the Dark techs
a few walkers and dreads (perhaps)
all war engines (discretely loaned to cultists, marines and others, so many will have a mark of CHaos)

Xana II Titans:
any titans - well, d'oh!  :p

Xana II L&D:
said war engines on loan from priesthood
beastmen
any cultists I round up

Attendant SMs:
Guest appearances by Berzerkers, K sons, E's children and Deathguard - not to mention Iron Warriors who have come shopping for armoured goodies.

Demonic:
Loads of demons for Khorne, and a few for the others.
And perhaps a machine demon.
Obliterators?

Why i should ask about your health status? if you are not here then surely you are not better, and anyway it's not so bad for you- after all, you were in badly need of some rest, seeing your last month's schedule, so the day you get that flu away you will surely feel better than the time just before you got ill(or that's what i hope).

Now, why the hell i can't get any number of chaos squats? maybe it's some kind of karmic thing...

By the way, I am 'not there' bec Yuber is working at the labs at the Univ, for those not in the know.
For the Squats, you need to pray to the right gods, I guess...  :p  :devil:
And yes, a bit of rest is ok. Although I'm still correcting exam scripts.... :(

Ok - a couple of lessons:
(1) If you're  painting troops of different colours on one stand, paint them before you glue them on. My first Chaos stand is a command stand with a Black Priesthood Sorcerer, a Berzerker and a Plague marine - the next will be similar, but with a Thousand Son and an Emperor's - er - child?
(2) Do not paint when running a fever. Or a nose  :p  :p

Thanks guys.
This morning I remembered the usefulness of competitions and Tac Comms projects and stuff. I just remembered the old Warlord Khalumnias of Khorne I'd build for the SG Titan comp;  he's still around, as are my altar of Tzeentch and my most maligned model ever, my SIlver Tower conversion.
