Hi guys I need your help, I'm trying to finish my 11th desert lions company but I don't know which colours to use, any ideas?? thanks a lot cheers bans |

I did a number of test patterns, and one color combo I really liked (bt couldn't use) was a Codex Grey basecoat with Snakebite Leather camo patches; the camo patches would have a dark grey or black outline. ?A closeup shot is below.  P.S. you can get a nice, uniform, thin outline if you put it down first, and put the lighter color on top. ?Take the lighter color close to the edge and use multiple coats at the edge to get good coverage. |

Yes, IIRC, the Desert Lions were mentioned a few times in the past. I think 454's camo is good for SMs. In the past, there were camo SM units, and IMO that's way all SMs should be. All my SMs are in Tac/Camo colors. I believe that the D/Lions, should be in a Desert Camo pattern or just Tan, Bans. But DWWFY ! |

They were mentioned in a old WD, and again in the Rogue Trader era WH40k Compendium. Bans, IIRC there never was any mention about their colors so your guess is as good as mine. However, considering their name I'd try various dark yellows/tans for their armour. |

Seems there's a general agreement on sand colours. You might want to try more exotic alien deserts, if you want variety - malachite green deserts, or purple deserts... but then they wouldn't have lions. Or go the L-4 way and use desert camo.  Robots eh? Sounds nice.  Whatever it is, when Bans decides, we're in for a treat.

Good to have you back Bans I must confess that I am also beginning to believe in L4's mantra. That's also why my next Marine army will be Dark Angles in a more or less tactically sound shade of green.
