Hey folks

Just a small project I have started on to go with my Crusade-era marine force. I always wanted to make an Eldar force back in the day (I still have nightmares about those Windrider hosts! ^-^ ) but never got around to it. I've got a mix of some Vanguard miniatures and some classic GW eldar vehicles.

The idea is that it is a Craftworld that survived the fall but is not still about in the 40th millenium, and so is a colour scheme of my own choosing. Anyway, here is the first 'tester' unit, hopefully some more to come soon

very neat, cohesive look as well given the age difference between the infantry and the falcons!

Thank you, I hadn't considered that really but you are right!

I still can't imagine 10 of the Guardians fitting into one of them, unless they use the Wraith technology from Star Gate Atlantis and just 'store' the infantry as a saved memory or something. But perhaps the Falcons have aged a little better than the Rhinos or Battlewagons from the same era.

A few more updates, firstly some Eldar Warp Hunters. These are the classic minis and again mounted on a thin piece of wire, to give the impression of them slowly bobbing along through the air.

Secondly, I have taken some artistic license with with the 30k setting with a new and fabricated Aspect warrior unit, known as the Bleeding Blades. They are comprised of master swordsmen who each try to find formidable opposing warriors with which to test their skills. Their blades have a special wraith-bone construct which allows them to 'absorb' the final moments of those they best in battle, and can re-live these fights afterwards. That I have used some Dark Eldar miniatures (from Onslaught) to represent them, and they obviously have not survived to the 40k era as an Aspect Warrior house, gives a hint that they may be walking a bit close to the line as far as the fall of the Eldar/Slaanesh is concerned! :)

That's cool. It's always a little disappointing when GW does nothing to expand the Eldar lore. They've gotten what, two new aspect warriors since 2e? While new-old Imperial tech is a dime-a-dozen.

Thank you guys!

Unfortunately a rather glacial pace with this project, but it is progressing. I managed to get hold of an (unopened!) Doomweaver pack at a very reasonable cost. After feeling some initial guilt I went ahead and opened them, I guess now at least their destiny has been realised! I've gone for the classic GW scheme of mostly black with some colour denoting the Craftworld.
