Yeah looked simple to me too. Not tried Lasalle but Blücher from same guy seems decent so will have a look. Didn't know Marconz had a rulset, will definitely look that out.

Dwarfs are looking amazing as well of course, great showcase. Any gyros coming?

I've got two Gyros that were slated to be done with the rest. I put them aside when I saw the mishmash of metal and wood, just didn't feel like taking it on with all the rest. I recently built up some unreleased organ guns and a few more characters though, and hope to tackle them together this year.

I haven't tried the game but it looks pretty simple. I was going to use these for Lasalle I think, but I found Fast Play Napoleonics and 321 Napoleonics (by Markconz) as well.

Lasalle is my favorite. Big advantage is there are always 3-4 games hosted at each Con. It makes learning the game easier and some else has painted all the minis needed.

I'm planning on breaking up the painting of the fusiliers with the artillery and cavalry options that came on the TravelBattle sprue. This past week I tackled the artillery.

I got a new roof this past week so the Carabiniers got put on hold for a bit. They're done now, so I'll tackle one of my last two Fusiliers next.

Really like the French Napoleonics - the Carabiniers have come out very nicely).

Do they take paint well ? (Past experience with plastics has taught me to use a spray undercoat rather than trying to paint it on.)

I've just had a look at the basic sprue and it seems that the heavy cav can be used for a few different types (Carabiniers / Cuirassiers / British heavies etc). Looking forward to your take on the Hussars.

I prime everything, glorfindel. Without it I find the paint rubs off on plastic and chips off on metal.

captPiett, that would be 1:SaD scale.

I finished up another unit of French Fusiliers today. The end is in site for this project, just the Hussars, characters and one more unit of the Fusiliers to go.

Thanks guys.

@apoc, ya I needed to start taking notes because leaving the paints out or grouped together for projects wasn't a very good system for recreating paint jobs.

I got these last week and kind of got distracted with them, they're CAV infantry, 10mm. I laser cut the bases and magnetized the heavy weapons so they can be swapped out. They're around halfway done I think. The bases are done, basecoats and washes as well, I'm going through and doing the highlights now. After that it'll just be the weapons left to do.

I took one dude through to completion, I might go a little lighter on the black highlight but this is what I'm shooting for.

I'm sure more than a few of you can relate to family having no earthly idea what it is we do with our miniatures. On the rare occasion that this hobby gets brought up the most common line of conversation, for me, revolves around selling them. Don't ask me about the figure, what it represents, how I painted it, or spend more than a second to glance at it, just ask me when I plan to sell it. This does beg the question though, if all these figures are good for is for selling, why are people buying them?

Anyway, that was why it was more than a little refreshing to have my grandmother in-law ask me about my company and if I had any new Polish-Lithuanian figures in the works. She is a first generation immagrant from Poland, and I've showed her pictures of the line as it's progressed over the years. I even got some pronounciation and translation tips from her for some of the units (looking at you, Lisowczycy).

She had her 98th birthday this past week, so we'll be stopping in this weekend for a visit. For a present, I painted up a Winged Hussar for her. Happy birthday, Babcia!
