Thanks. The models mostly get left alone, I've just been trying to make them WYSIWYG, or near enough anyway.

I finished up the Shadowswords last night. I also went back and painted the headlights on the Baneblades that I missed. Next up are the Leman Russ Exterminators.

Nice work Dave. Those are the old metal models?

Ya, SM/TL era. There's a few Squat Heavy Bolters thrown on here and there for WYSIWYG.

Really nice work as usual. It looks like you did a dry brush over the vehicles, it looks good.

Thanks guys. The tracks got a dry brush, Chris, the rest was edge highlighting.

I got the Leman Russ Exterminators done last week but forgot to snap a pic. Things are moving along, albeit slowly. This week will either be the Salamander Scouts or a quick tangent into Shieldbash to get things ready for an upcoming invitational.

Nice! I like the colors used.

I used the same Flames of War bases for my Guard army too ... they work great.

You can see my plans for Commissars here, I'm making plugs that I'll be able to move around. When a vehicle doesn't need a Commissar I'll just have some hatch plugs to put in their place.

you could always pin vice drill a small hole, and thn have a flag you can pop into the hole when the commissar is in da tank, and it could also be a helpful way of organising your tank companies, regiments. Colour coded pennants, and numbers, and a special flag for the commissar, and another for the commander.

Just food for thought, especially as you like tinkering and modifying minis.

Thanks guys. That seems like a lot of work Deb. With my current system I've got a way to mark Commissars (Commissar plug), and a way to mask it when they're not there (hatch plug). That's all I need.

I finished the Salamander Scouts this week, throwing one on the floor in celebration. After a bit of glue the autocannon was reattached and they were finished, again…

I also painted up one of the Commissar character plugs. I glued a fish eye on his back for a hatch and sculpted the arms. Super close up he looks like he's grinning like crazy.

Thanks man.

The Manticores are all finished up. I went with some classic red on the missiles. Just the Stormhammers left, after that I need to figure out if I'm building more guard or painting something else.

Lookin' good Dave.
Leave it to the Imperium to have three different missiles on one platform (judging from the size of the red dots anyway...). A logistician's nightmare. Guess they lost the STC that tells them how to streamline.

Clearly the answer to what's next is "build more Guard". Not sure that's even a real question ;)
