Nice dwarves.

Never played against them.

Who made the minis?

They're Games Workshop's models.

I'm gaming tonight so I won't get getting any further on these guys this week. The blue shade and base color are down, it needs 1-2 highlights next and I made hit it with a wash to see if I like it better that way. Leathers, flesh, hair and basing to go!

Looking great Dave. What you use for the silver and gold?

The gold was retributor, fleshshade gloss, liberator, and a light silver paint.

The silver was out of a Testors can, washed black, and dry brushed with two silvers. I'm not thrilled with it though. I either sucked at dry brushing or am never impressed with the results (probably both). I'll likely see what I can do to shade it a little better, depending on how the other stuff finishes up before Fall In.

I put the final two highlights on the blue this past week, managed to get the bases and boots based coated, and now I'm working through all the leather belts, straps and satchels on the dwarves.

I was also curious last night and took one figure to completion. I didn't use a wash on the skin, I'm not sure if that's the way to go yet. You can also see the leather on this guy too, not sure if it needs one more highlight or not. Thoughts?

Is the leather on that dude the strap-looking thing next to his helmet? I don't think it needs another highlight. I might even go with a darker color, but it works as-is.

I think the face can stay as-is as well. There's enough contrast there that a wash might be overkill.

Well I highlighted the leather and washed the face anyway. You're not my supervisor!

I finished the leather on the dwarves this week, man did that suck. There's just a bunch of tiny leather details everywhere. Anyway, the base-coat for the flesh is down now so it's that and the hair, plus decals and basing.

It's unlikely that I'll get to these before Fall In! but they're playable at least.

Thanks guys.

I'd like to finish the basing on the Dwarves as well as their artillery before the end of the year but I'm burnt out on them for now. I headed back to the Void Spinners (third times the charm) and finish 2 of them. I hope to finish the third, touch-up the black highlights and de-gloss them this weekend.

This is what I managed to get done last week before Fall In! I finished the skin and hair on the dwarves, and got them on bases along with the ballast. The decals didn't end up working out, they printed poorly and I found myself touching them up far too much. I scrapped the idea and painted simple patterns on the shields to differentiate the Warriors. I'll got back and match the shield pattens on the banners as well.

The general still is a work-in-progress, I'm converting him up along with an unreleased musician. I did manage to get some good decal prints for him and the Anvil, they'll be the only two in the army.

I finished up the Void Spinners the other week and also went back and updated the rocks on some of the older bases to match my newer scheme. I'd still like to strengthen the black highlights on the super-heavies at some point but figured this was a good place to leave for the year. So here's just over 6,000 points of my Epic Craftworld Lugganath Eldar army. Still plenty left to do though (Aspects, Guardians, Wave Serpents and Titans being the bulk of it).

Yeah, good looking army. I like orange.

"Orange, the blend of red and yellow, is a mixture of the energy associated with red and the happiness associated with yellow. Orange is associated with meanings of joy, warmth, heat, sunshine, enthusiasm, creativity, success, encouragement, change, determination, health, stimulation, happiness, fun, enjoyment, balance, sexuality, freedom, expression, and fascination."

So there you go.
