I feel like I've seen 3rd party versions of the old Epic 2nd ed square bases, does anyone know anything more and if they can recommend them? |

On shapeways you buy the actual prints, not the CAD file. |

Hi! I buy mine here: http://www.sarissa-precision.com/ While I preferred to make them 25mm (more space for the actual figures and detailing the base), you could ask them to make them 20 x 20mm as well as specify the thickness. I use them heavily (and by heavily I mean THOUSANDS of bases so far). Great service, good prices. They are based in the Uk and I like in the US, so ordering from them from anywhere is easy. You can select the thickness when you add to cart (1, 2 or 3mm) Also choose whether you want straight or rounded edges which is a nice touch |

I ... don't think I'll need more than a 100 or so at this point, but thanks  I've been wondering if there is an actual better design than the standard bases, where infantry mini's 'plug in' easier and don't pop out if you look at them the wrong way. I've bent one Marine already trying to slot him in (thankfully just a case of some glue on the kneecaps). |

That said I made them 25 x 25mm not the original 20mm which I always felt waas too small and made for a tight fit for some of the larger infantry (terminators, Ogryns). Primarch |

Where were you 3 years ago when this all started, LOL! Primarch Arguing with the rubbish tooling house to get them to cast non-rubbish versions of the infantry & vehicles sprue, probably. The tool room I use now is, non-rubbish.

Well I tried contacting Sarissa about it, but got not reply, so, I don't if theres a better channel than their little 'ask a question' through the website thing. |
