@moredakka: thanks!

@Stormwind: yeah, they're great models! They should make great Stompas, but I'd of course add moar gunz n gubbinz to 'em.

@malika2: I actually agree a bit, thanks for backing up the nagging feeling in the back of my mind. For the Baron there's not too much to be done, although I could try playing around with a few bits here and there. The swarming grots help a little bit irl to make it look like a mech rather than a 28mm bot. For the Lancers though, after some close scrutiny and playing around with options it's back to the drawing board. Right now I have two contender prototypes, leaning toward the spider-legged version over the (rather silly but fun) mono-wheel.

One thing that might work is to add some 6mm scaled secundary weaponry and maybe an epic scaled rifle or whatever sticking out from a hatch or something.

Another possibility would be to try to add more tiny rivets. Look at the teeth of the fellow on the left, in 28mm scale those single rivets make sense, but in 6mm scale those teeth are gigantic. They'd need something more than a single giant nail to hold them.

I haven't found many tutorials for 6mm scaled rivets, but maybe something along the lines of [url=http://fromthewarp.blogspot.nl/2009/11/how-to-make-rivets-step-by-step.html]this[/ulr]?

I have used two methods. One is using rather thick tinfoil as metal sheat and punching it with a blunt nail/needle. The other is ready made riveted plastic sheets for hobby use.

@all: Thanks!

I'm fast approaching a finished 3K force (6 1/2 knights left to paint), which is good, because Adepticon is less than a month away.. And as they're getting ready to go forth into the wild for the first time, they obviously need to do it in style. That means a display board!

Here we've got the WIP shot. It'll be used for both my Epic and BFG Orks, so it's going to have an interchangeable middle, one for city paving and one for spaaAAAaAaaAAaaace! *ahem*

Cheers!

Truly inspired stuff! Like Mordoten said, I love your idea and what you've done with it. Good show sir.
