So, I'm looking for sources to buy either affordable originals or affordable proxies for Thunderhawk Gunships, and Baneblades/Shadowswords/etc. I love the look of the Vanguard Miniatures Novan superheavies, and those are probably the leading option right now I guess, my only concern is that they are a somewhat larger scale than the original epic superheavies. But I'm just curious if you guys know of any other sources or options. Also looking for Thunderhawks. Originals are 30-40$ each on eBay, which is not horrible, but I'm hoping to find something cheaper. There are some 3D printed ones on Shapeways, but they cost around the same anyways. Same for the superheavy tanks. Semi-related, any suggestions for Gorgons? |

Check out the Exodus Wars Gaia heavy transport for a nice gorgon proxy. Available from HLS Models. |

Apocolocyntosis wrote: Gaia has been out of stock for months ![]() Another nod for the Gaia. Really would love a few packs of these, as well as the Khazari copters, but we've been waiting for a few months now. The Exodus Wars range also has some superheavy proxy options, specifically the Guild Elektra (which makes a fair Shadowsword) and the Guild Enforcer (a good approximation for a Baneblade). They also do a Guild Exterminator which is my favorite of the models, but which doesn't have a direct corollary (perhaps a Stormlord?) I also think these are very slightly smaller than the DiD Novans, but hopefully someone wise can pop in and confirm that. Personally, I prefer the slightly larger size of the DiD models as they scale upwards from the non- War Engine vehicles better, especially if you take other stuff from the DiD/Vanguard range, which I think tends very slightly towards being larger than their GW comparisions. |

Yeah those Exodus Wars ones look pretty nice. Those would make pretty good Gorgons. Although I've considered just converting some from Land Raiders. I have a ton of Land Raiders that I somehow got for criminally cheap on eBay, I have around 24 of them. So I could just sacrifice a bunch of them to chop up into Gorgons. maybe take two of the old-style plastic ones and saw them in half and glue them back together so they're extended. Maybe flip them upside down so they have the open troop compartment like the Gorgon does. Problem is that the old-style Land Raiders aren't really tall or wide enough. But could work as a proxy. |

I have been building a krieg list and i took a page from the gentlement here and i'm using micromachine sandcrawlers as my gorgons also, thunderhawks can be easily proxied/even scratchbuilt- just look on the foums here and you will find enterprising modelers who have done just that- also check out shapwawys if you want to go that route as well |

All good choices guys ! But before you chop up those Land Raiders which as we all know are OOP ... sell or trade them. As we noted ... there are a number of other models available from various sources for your needs ... Also note Tom/EW/HLS has many of the original EW models at the casters ... so ... |

But of all the OOP things out there, Land Raiders seem to be some of the most extremely common ones out there ![]() But yeah, I will look at trying to find alternatives before I chop anything up |

Legion 4 wrote: Just trying to be helpful ... but the Gaia is my choice ... ![]() the Gaia definitely looks the part. Love the giant bulldozer blade Got any size comparison photos? Or even just the dimensions, just so I can get an idea of how it compares to the other miniatures? I swear, it should be a rule that all 6mm scale miniatures list the specific dimensions. I'm sorry, but I can never tell if a given vehicle is comparable to an epic chimera/rhino, a land raider, or a baneblade. |

The Khazari flyers are being blistered up as we speak. So Dale will have a full restock of them shortly. The Gaia has been out of stock whilst we get more of the chassis's cast up. We use a specialistresin caster for them. They'll take a little longer. So far we have received all the components from SGTs Mess and Griffin Moulds, just waiting on the resins now ![]() |

Interesting. |
