Post subject: | Chaos Defiler Proxy Models |
Hi guys, I'm looking for some models to proxy as chaos defilers (I've seen some cracking scratchbuilds around, but they all look a bit too fiddly for me). I've been compiling a list of what I consider some of the best possibilities, and was looking for some feedback or other suggestions. Vanguard Miniatures - Cybershadows Warcrab http://vanguardminiatures.co.uk/shop/cy ... -warcrabs/ ![]() 35mm long and 40mm wide Architects of War - Shock Drones http://www.architectsofwar.com/preorder ... ones3.aspx ![]() (two other drone variants are also available) Onslaught Miniatures - Kappa Sentry Rigs http://www.onslaughtmini.com/154-kappa-sentry-rigs.html ![]() 28x28x12mm Hawk Wargames - Prowlers http://www.hawkwargames.com/products/prowler-pack ![]() ~12mm tall Hawk Wargames - Stalkers http://www.hawkwargames.com/products/stalker-pack ![]() ~29mm tall Microworld Games - Kreen Scuttler MKI & MKII (thanks Apocolocyntosis!) http://www.microworldgames.com/products/scuttler-mk-ii ![]() L: 20mm (hull) H: 20mm W: 23mm (legspan) Ground Zero Games - V15-84A Spider Drones http://shop.groundzerogames.co.uk/index ... ct_id=1533 ![]() individually (not like in this photo) fit snugly on a 20mmx20mm infantry base (thanks for the info lylekelm!) Westfalia Miniatures - Steam Crabs http://westfalia-miniatures.com/shopste ... y=12486413 ![]() Any other good suggestions? I'm updating thise post with people's ideas. |

I think you'll find the dzc prowlers too small. I'd recommend looking at the stalker. |

Blip wrote: I think you'll find the dzc prowlers too small. I'd recommend looking at the stalker. You might be right there. Found their original site: http://www.hawkwargames.com/products/prowler-pack Apparently they are ~12mm tall each, which makes them about the same as a rhino (although they look longer/wider to me). The stalkers are alot bigger (apparently ~29mm tall) Hawk Wargames - Stalkers http://www.hawkwargames.com/products/stalker-pack ![]() They have a very specific look and feel to them though, that might make a great daemon engine, but not to my personal taste at least for a defiler. The legs look great though. Maybe I could make some basic conversions to them... Thanks for the info regardless! |

kyussinchains wrote: GZG spider drones? Those look pretty cool. As it's not the stock photo I see on their site, can I assume those are yours? Got an idea of the size of them? Ground Zero Games - V15-84A Spider Drones http://shop.groundzerogames.co.uk/index ... ct_id=1533 ![]() They seem to be 3 to a base on the GZG site so I'd initially assumed they would be really small, although if those blue squares underneath are representing 1cm squares, it might actually be a pretty good size. |

Good to see a picture....i hope the Vanguard Miniatures - Cybershadows Warcrab is a little bigger but not taller. I like the height, but for me defiler should bee bigger than a SM Land Raider. Just a bit.... |

Not next to any official GW models (unless that's the heroquest gargoyle I see!), but some other proxy models that should give you a good enough idea of it's size (as well as a standard 40K round slotta base): Here is the thread in which he posted it (where you can click it for a much better zoomed in view, it's the last/5th picture in the first post): http://www.tacticalwargames.net/taccmd/viewtopic.php?f=85&t=28924 |

beelzemetz wrote: These are fine proxies, too, maybe a bit expensive: http://westfalia-miniatures.com/shopste ... y=12486413 Really nice. You are right that the price is a bit of a killer. 8 quid for three and I'd be sold! I assume they are roughly the right scale? |
