Hi guys, I'm looking for some models to proxy as chaos defilers (I've seen some cracking scratchbuilds around, but they all look a bit too fiddly for me).

I've been compiling a list of what I consider some of the best possibilities, and was looking for some feedback or other suggestions.

Vanguard Miniatures - Cybershadows Warcrab

35mm long and 40mm wide

Architects of War - Shock Drones

Onslaught Miniatures - Kappa Sentry Rigs

Hawk Wargames - Prowlers

Hawk Wargames - Stalkers

Ground Zero Games - V15-84A Spider Drones

Any other good suggestions? I'm updating thise post with people's ideas.

Thanks, I knew I'd seen them somewhere before, but couldn't track them down again!

I think you'll find the dzc prowlers too small. I'd recommend looking at the stalker.

You might be right there. Found their original site:

http://www.hawkwargames.com/products/prowler-pack

Apparently they are ~12mm tall each, which makes them about the same as a rhino (although they look longer/wider to me).

The stalkers are alot bigger (apparently ~29mm tall)

They have a very specific look and feel to them though, that might make a great daemon engine, but not to my personal taste at least for a defiler. The legs look great though. Maybe I could make some basic conversions to them...

Thanks for the info regardless!

Those look pretty cool. As it's not the stock photo I see on their site, can I assume those are yours? Got an idea of the size of them?

They seem to be 3 to a base on the GZG site so I'd initially assumed they would be really small, although if those blue squares underneath are representing 1cm squares, it might actually be a pretty good size.

Here they are on an old 20 x 20 infantry sized base.

Good to see a picture....i hope the Vanguard Miniatures - Cybershadows Warcrab is a little bigger but not taller. I like the height, but for me defiler should bee bigger than a SM Land Raider. Just a bit....

Found a picture of the cybershadows warcrab in action by a user on this forum (@ringo). Not next to any official GW models (unless that's the heroquest gargoyle I see!), but some other proxy models that should give you a good enough idea of it's size (as well as a standard 40K round slotta base):

Here is the thread in which he posted it (where you can click it for a much better zoomed in view, it's the last/5th picture in the first post):

These are fine proxies, too, maybe a bit expensive:

Really nice. You are right that the price is a bit of a killer. 8 quid for three and I'd be sold! I assume they are roughly the right scale?
