Those who know vaguely of Precinct Omega and our One Pound Wargames will know that we don't do our own miniatures, so I've enjoyed finding the cheapest ranges of nice-looking 6mm minis to support our MechaWar, AirFrame and BattleGroup games - the three volumes of our HorizonWar series.

MechaWar minis:

Here's some terrain I made to go with them:

And here are some more I painted for some enthusiasts of the game:

All of those were from EM4, of course, at the spectacular price of £2.55 for five, but these are even better value from the same company: 12 airframes for £2.55, for AirFrame:

And now, with BattleGroup nearly ready for publication, here are my Brigade Models 6mm SF stuff (not all of it, but the bits that are fit for public comsumption):

And it would be wrong not to include these pics of my lovely Angel Barracks minis, which are quite definitely the prettiest 6mm sculpts I've seen yet:

Not sure why someone moved this thread to 10mm. These are all 6mm models.

Checked the logs and the thread doesn't look like it was moved in the first place, but i've put it in 6mm for you.

Nice work and a good mix of minis :)

I've sort of been taking a break from painting my 6mm stuff whilst playtesting BattleGroup and finishing other projects, but now it's time to get seriously 6mm!

I'm starting with this command vehicle from Angel Barracks:

Image

This is very much a preliminary WIP; a sort of "get you started" paintjob. The vehicle comes in two parts that are notionally connected by a rod, but I've not bothered to use that part (which was very, very tiny and fiddly). Instead, I've mounted the vehicle's two parts separately, so I can either use them together as a custom super-heavy vehicle, or I can run the front part as a Lt Cav or Mob Inf CHQ, and the back part as an objective marker.

There's also a MLRS pod that goes on the front part, which I'm still painting. But that would allow me to either increase the FP of the super-heavy, or else run the front part as an artillery element.

All in all, a very versatile and interesting vehicle.

It will be three-colour eventually.

The finished command vehicle:

By the way, anyone who visits our website will find a rather horrible "account suspended" notice. This is a result of a botnet DDOS attack conducted on WordPress on Monday night. I'm still working on restoring it. We haven't died, been sued, not paid our bills. In fact, we don't even use WordPress, but we used to and I never got around to removing the basic architecture, so... crap.

EDIT - And the first base of Brigade Models heavy (powered) infantry is finished, too:

These are great value and surprisingly well detailed with cool heavy weapons.

Never realized just how much those power armored infantry remind be of the fighting suits from Maschinen Krieger Zbv 3000
Love the camo!

The "egghead" design seems to be the "established" design for pretty much all near-future SF gaming. Defiance Games has given it to their new 28mm UAMC Heavy Infantry. The design appears in the art for Tomorrow's War. And even the new Komodo suit from Antenociti's Workshop is basically along this design.
