Does anyone know of someplace that has pictures of the different Titan Legion color schemes? I want to paint up some titans, but want to see different options before making a decision. Thanks in advance for any input you can offer. |

sean, sorry about the hijacking. Still havent found a comprehensive pic of legion schemes. Appears there is none. I fear the wading through a sea of fluff more than my own shortcomings in scheme design, so I will probably just paint something I find cool... |

I have a few Titans to paint, which will be used as support for SM and IG. I personally am just going to make up a scheme I think works (Heresy and I should be cleansed) which is going to be mainly metallic look with some splashes of colour and weathering. I figure the imperium of man is so big no one would notice..... |

Nealhunt put together a PDF of the TL's with their colors. No pics though. I also haven't been able to track it down. |

We don't even have Epicomp galleries anymore =[. Choosing these color schemes is difficult. Any thoughts on which schemes work best for which titan "patterns"? I like to think of the metal Warhounds (1st and 4th ed.), metal Reavers, and plastic Warlords as one group (maybe Mars pattern, though there are other curvy Warhound models). They have rounded carapaces with thick outlines and the old Adeptus Titanicus / Titan Legion books have drawings and photos of various schemes. Mottled patterns work better on these, and the borders are a good place for metallics. Then you've got the FW Warhound, FW Reaver, and 3rd ed. metal Warlord in another category, Lucius-pattern. Angular designs, not necessarily as good for designs that use contrasting borders. Contrast is more likely to come from painting the head or a panel here and there differently. I think darker schemes look better on these, but light ones work too. Maybe it's bright colors that don't? That's probably not true. I remember seeing a red 3rd ed. Warlord in White Dwarf and liking it. It had one lower leg panel painted in black and white diagonal stripes, and it had missile launchers on both shoulders. Silver head. I kind of like that scheme because there'd be continuity with my Blood Angels with the main color only (I'd use a deeper red though, not an orangey one), but I can't see it working so well on the FW Warhound and Reaver. Oh, I don't know. It's too hard to choose! *edit* and why does the green on the Epic 40,000 Warlord (the one that's in all the photos) work so well? I haven't seen many green titans I've liked, but that one pulls it off. |
