Hi Guys After mainly using gw paint over the years and been pretty happy with it, a while ago as you all know they changed the paints, now old colours cannot be purchased in store, I had the clever idea of stocking up on the paints especially scorpion green for my armys! Black wash I have used from valeo and just watered it down so its the same as gw thickness so not a problem, But Blood red is a drama, my pots nearly empty and ebay is empty! Any folks know a good comparison, I have tried a new gw red paint but its darker and when I black wash my models as I do with all of them it turns to dark! Regards epic |

http://www.dakkadakka.com/wiki/en/Paint ... lity_Chart I know the VGC compliments are so close for mechrite and blood red that I've actually swapped paints on the same model accidentally without issue (literally stoppingafter applying paint and realized used the wrong pot). I expect the P3 and other manufacturers are probably just as close. Incidentally the new GW red sits somewhere between the tones of the above mentioned color so don't write it off. The three colors work really well together. |
