Welcome, to my 6mm painting and converting area!

I am a slow painter and I don't have much time. So far in my entire miniature hobby career I have finished painting one army for Warhammer, and that took over 2 years. Lets hope the smaller scale will help me finish armies more easily.

I have two armies planned. One is a corrupted human PDF force. The other is Orks. Here's my ork stuff so far:

I'm currently working on my first Mek Stompa. I've scratch built it from some sweet packaging I found, plus some plastic card and a few bits. A finished pic should be arriving soon in the Epic Comp, so I'll just show WIP for now.

At the moment I can't find my camera charger, and the only WIP pics I can find are in a video blog I made. So, if you go to the video at 2:10 you can see it. Otherwise I'll try to find some other pics and will post more soon.

I found some more pics of my Mek Stompa in WIP. I haven't found my camera charger yet, so additional pics will have to wait.

I have some Grots that I am hoping to take pics of soon.

Here's the first WIP:

And here is the second WIP after I added some plasticard, putty and a few bits:

Hopefully I can show a front on view soon.

That is a good start, and looks definitely orky. Good job on the ramshackle plasticard plating.

That's a suspiciously familiar Nob Warbike in the foreground... ;)

Thanks Fredmans, I was worried it would look odd, but painted up it isn't too bad.

DK, yep I am cooking up some plans for special stuff like that.

Thanks Legion and Primarch too!

Here's it painted up. This is the version I meant to submit to the competition, but I submitted an old pic by mistake. I can post more, but I don't want to inundate the thread with pics of one model. I was thinking of making the bases for the whole army like this, but it might be too much work.

I still haven't found my charger, so I can't post pics of the grots I painted up.

I more than loved how it turned out. It has a very charming feel to it. The base looks great, too. You might want to save that work for your centrepieces, or you can go elsmore on all of them :D

Great build. I've been planning some steam gargants for a while and this is great inspiration.

Love it!

He reminds me of Roberto from Futurama :)

That's a Necron destroyer hand, yes?

Thanks very much for the compliments everyone.

Fredmans, thanks I really appreciated your comment. I love the joy you see in the older Orky models(both 28mm and 6mm) and was trying for that. The base is actually fairly simple. The whole thing was made from cutting a 40k Dreadnought base in half. Then I just added some cardboard to one side for the sidewalk, and cut up some GW sprues bits for the other parts. The sidewalk effect is created by using the back of a scalpel to trace lines along the cardboard, and a good drybrush finishes it off.

I might do this for my whole army, but I want to see how it looks on smaller bases first.

@JimmyZimms, I'm tempted to make my next Mek Stompa to look even more like Roberto now.

@ Todderman, it isn't a necron hand. The elbow is made from a Space Marine backpack, the forearm is made from a Tau gun, and the hand is made from a Mantic Ghoul hand, which is seen on the left of this sprue:

I'm still stuck with no functioning camera for now, but hope to fix it by the end of the month.
