Hi,

Anyone have a good source for SM Land Speeder and/or Land Raider proxies?

For what it's worth the old-school land raiders are usually available for a reasonable price (relatively speaking) on ye olde fleabay. They can generally be found for less than proxy metal stuff costs.

Javelin Scout Hover looks like a good bet for landspeeders. Without mimicking the old it still maintains the feel.

Yeah I've seen those but am not a fan of the old style ones, I think it's the guns seemingly on sticky out pintle bits and the tracks being so much larger than the hull. I'll give eBay a skim though.

I kind of like these from spartan games. Det have the same footprint as the GW tanks, but a lower profile. They are not as available as they used to be, but you get 8 of them in an army deal with. Lot of other usefull minis...

Do you mean these?

They are rather good!

Looks like the only other option to the boxed set is to buy 'em individually direct from Spartan. Relatively pricey but cheaper than fleabay mk2 land raiders.

Has anyone got a comparison photo with GW land raiders, rhinos, or the like?

You can get 4th edition Land Raiders on eBay for not too much more than what they used to cost before GW pulled the plug on them.

Land Speeders are a problem though.

A friend recently had the same problem for landspeeders - I suggested that these : http://www.darkrealmminiatures.co.uk/st ... t=4&page=1 might work without the rotors and a bit of conversion work? In the end he mortgaged a couple of body parts and found some 3rd ed ones on eBay.
