A few Word Bearers I dug out to scratch that Epic itch. These will (hopefully) be swollen in size to face off against my Ultramarines army for a classic 'red vs blue' Horus Heresy extravaganza:

For the moment, however, just a Rhino and a couple of Legion Tactical stands.

Fantastic stuff...these word bearers just ooze dark moodiness and character. Very much looking forward to more of your work.

Coo, thanks very much, all. I managed to snag a copy of 1st ed. Space Marine over the weekend, which had some great background ideas. Here's a small update – a bike formation. I mainly used the newer metal bikes (Attack Bikes, in the main, so the little holes at the sides need to be tidied up), but scattered in a few of the plastic old-style bikes.

I think mixing different generations of models gives a more interesting appearance to the group, and helps to 'sell' the models as a real military unit. Besides, the rounded versions look like the Forge World Outriders, which is a nice nod to the newer aesthetic.
