I haven't worked on my Epic Chaos collection for several years - lots of unpainted and half-painted models sitting in a few boxes, just waiting patiently for some attention. They've seen action in a few games of Strike Legion during that time, but not a speck o' painting. So, I was recently at a gathering of some of the members of my old gaming group; long story short, everyone wants to start playing something semi-regularly again, with the first game chosen for attention being EA. So I've cracked the box lids, shuffled a few things around, and finally started giving the lil' devils some time on the painting table. Hopefully I'll be able to move everything into the 'painted and based' column in short order. First new piece finished (well, some minor details need to be added): Harbinger bomber: Attachment:

Thanks for the compliments - appreciated! Some poor pictures of additional progress - Dreads and Defilers. I'm not happy with the Dreadnoughts and may convert a few and repaint all of them, but they're serviceable for the moment: Attachment: Attachment:

I do like these. Very subtle, judging by the photo. How did you do them? |

Thanks! The rhinos received a green-gray basecoat and a pastel green drybrushing. I then applied random bits of watered-down orange-brown and green ink, a bit of black ink on the stack vents and hull recesses, followed by an earthshade wash. Another light drybrushing of pastel green and some detailing (icon and gunner) and that's pretty much it. ![]() |

Finished a bit more for my Death Guard contingent - 4 Havocs and 8 Plaguebearers (painting is OK; pictures... not so much). ![]() ![]() And taking a cue from the work of some others around here, I've converted a couple of Cryx 'jacks into Chaos Warhounds (or Fester titans, depending on how I decide to paint them): ![]() It also occurs to me that these 'jacks might be a good starting point for my 15mm Chaos Forgefiend/Maulerfiend conversions, if a little on the small side... hmmm... |
