Many thanks for posting the guide I did see it on FB but nice to see it here too.

No bother, Just waiting on the cybershadow restock and I can do another order and I hope to get a couple of other painting guides done after that!

Awesome Work! Love the color schemes.

Thanks! Got some of your legion bits ready and waiting to be painted once I've cleared some of this backlog!

Those Emp Children look absolutely fantastic!

Very impressed with the edging on the shoulder pads - that took some guts to attempt! :)

Thanks! I have to do them in very small batches, as it can be headache inducing! Most of the trim is ok, but there are some sculpts where they are turned and you have to kind of guess where the edge would be as the pad bleeds into the backpack. Thankfully, the mistakes don't show up too well and the bad photography makes them look much better then they really are! ;D

Working on putting together some Epic 40k 3rd edition detachments to play some games over the summer.

I have a bunch of the new AT models on back order, which were gifted to me and decided the only sensible thing to do would be to have some Ad mech to go along with them. But have gone mad for them and it turned from being some base decoration to an entire army project- not that I mind, they are fantastic models to paint! Models are from vanguard miniatures 'cybershadows' range. I have a few conversions on the workbench, using some of the older GW models for some of the more obscure units, but I know vanguard have some more units in the works, which should come out soon!

Ah third edition my favourite game, I will be following progress of this army and your 3rd edition unit stats with interest.

You have done a grand job on these minis sir many thanks for sharing.

There are indeed more cybershadows coming, more troop types and various odds and ends, we are looking at at least 6 more releases over the next month or so and many more planned for the future.

Absolutely fantastic job again - very accurate job with some of the details on the walker!

Will be interesting how you get on with Epic 3rd edition - it was one of the versions I didn't get the chance to play.

@moredakka my favourite version of the game too. I've not played in far,far too long and didn't play many games even when it was current. I flipped through the rulebook a few weeks ago and remembered why I loved it so much. Best bit about it is that it's gotten me to crack on and knock some painted units out. I'm fond of painting for fun, but it doesn't get me many finished projects!

I realised that I had copied and pasted the whole post directly from dakka, so some of the information about your lines is a little redundant though! But I'm leaving it in now, changing it is time not spent painting! haha
Good to hear that you have new units inc, I'm really excited to see what else is in the pipeline. (Personally hoping for chicken walkers and smaller big robots!) Love the new units you put out today, definitely in the market too adding some more women to my rather small collection of battle nuns!

@Pacific thanks very much! The tank is one of the most enjoyable things I've painted EVER. It is crammed with details and I actually preferred painting it to it's larger counterpart, or at least got a better result at the end! I brought a couple of packs intending to paint a couple up for the ad mech and a couple up for my Skaven, but looks like I'm going to have to buy some more packs, as these are far too much fun to paint up and my ad mech is growing from a single detachment to a full blown army! 3rd is my favourite edition. I know it gets a bad name for a few reasons, but most of them are unwarranted. It's a great game and one of the best games put out by GW. It has it's faults, mostly to do with it was only ever one edition and never got a rewrite (to fix missing or confusing rules) but they are easy enough to look past. I just love the simplicity of the rules and (thought I've never played anything other than small games) apparently you can play absolutely beast of a game, with hundreds of units on the table in the same time as you would to play a regular Armageddon game.

Sporadic update: I got around to basing the first ad mech bits I painted back in April!

Image

I have the rest of the detachment in various stages of painted, but somehow accidentally ended up with some tainted on my work bench ::)

I'm thinking of doing word bearers, I have a handful of iron warriors done but I was using regular novans for them, as I like the iron warriors as less spiky version of chaos. I did consider doing the tainted as black legion but I despise painting black armour, let alone at this scale. My loyalist forces are emperors children & Space wolves, and have some nurgle stuff done for the traitors (dark green) so thought word bearers would be a nice scheme that would stand out, dark red, gold & neon green.

Plus they would give me a chance to paint up a bunch of sorcerers and deamon possessed models, as well as cultists which have just felt out of place in my other armies so far.

Still plugging away with my Epic armies but been doing up odds n ends for my micromunda/Inq6 project over the last few months. Still got loads to do but painting the odd mini in between other stuff makes for nice a break and lets me spend some extra time on teeny tiny models that otherwise would be batch painted and lost in units.

@deacon & @Rastamann Thanks!

Been working on trying to reduce the unpainted pile, which isn't going very well as I've been starting to fill gaps in my collection :tut never mind! ;D

Added a few more stands to my Emperors Children detachment. The new vanguard Affray sculpts are phenomenal! So much faster to paint with the shoulder pad trim sculpted on! Placed an order for some more this week, need to add heavy weapons & some devastator squads.

Back to working on my Orks whilst I wait for the re-enforcements to show up!
