Can anyone recommend good flock/sand to use at 6mm as my current flock and sand leave a bit to be desired at this scale... |

I really like the GW textured paints for 6mm basing, Vallejo do big tubs (sandy paste) more suitable for large armies that can also have a colour mixed in |

Chinchilla dust from the pet shop, comes in amounts to last a lifetime, it cheap and in small grains, ideal for epic. I mix mine in with the GW stuff for a bit of variety. |

For sand, I use the stuff you put in a lizard's terrarium. It's very fine and dirt cheap in the US. For flock, I haven't found much that I like for 6mm. Woodland Scenic stuff is alright, but doesn't do it for me most of the time. I tend to use the Silfor grass tufts which look like 3-4 foot grass stalks in 6mm. |

Hi, I would recommend two options. Firstly, the Baccus basing system : https://www.baccus6mm.com/index.php?content=products/scenics&detail=scenics I use this for most small scale basing. Used with some 10mm English Civil War figures : ![]() Secondly, I have recently discovered Block Paving Sand which is sold in large bags for about £4 from Wickes. Cheers, Phil http://wickes.live.venda.com/invt/220201?utm_campaign=bazaarvoice&utm_medium=SearchVoice&utm_source=RatingsAndReviews&utm_content=Default Very very fine sand and cheap. I now use this for everything small scale. |

Very fine aquarium sand for me too; mixed with very fine railway modelling flock. And cat litter of the Fullers' earth type for boulders and stones. It's traditional at this stage to indicate I use new, unused litter and not second hand stuff.... |

I have used these 1mm long grass strands. 1mm is a good length static grass for 6mm figures: http://www.antenocitisworkshop.com/inde ... s/?name=33 |
