So, I'm getting around to finishing my 6mm 40k project and had a couple of things on which I'd appreciate some community input as far as proxy models or starter models for conversions. Readily available models on the market would be my primary concern; hoping to grab some rare items on eBay or somesuch isn't really viable for me right now. So:
1. Forgefiend/Maulerfiend
I was thinking of using one of the Microworld Lizard Rider models for these, along with some plasticard/green stuff work. Anything better as a starting point?
2. Obliterators
Anything that would be a good conversion starting point, assuming the liberal use of green stuff to complete it? I don't want to use the few Chaos termies I have as dollies, and the Imperial termies are a bit smallish.
3. Heldrake
Some sort of dragon model that would work (along with a lot of plasticard)?
4. Newer Necron vehicles
While I'm planning on scratch-building the arks/catacombs/stalkers, are there any similar models on the market that would make this job a little easier? I have proxies for the fliers (but don't remember where they came from).
