Well 1st sorry this is in a new thread.

ok 3 reasons for doing this challange.

1,i'm making a website atm to do commission painting so this a to see what my turn over time could be.
2,in 7 days i will be getting my 1st display case.
3,important of all it give me another 3500pts in my blood angels army pushing the total points to just over 10k.
painting starts 1st thing on sunday.

but i just though its now down to 6 days as on tuesday i will be having a battle vs stug so no painting that eve

I think what you are doing sounds:

1: Like a good idea to get a realistic view of turn around time.
2: Like a fun thing to finish another full army
3: Like interesting to see how you may feel once under presure.

I would make one more suggestion. Do it again, but paint an army that is not one of your favorites. Because I think it is very different to paint for fun and to paint for coin. Sometimes you get stuck painting the fifth Ultra marine Company in six months and just have to power through it.

Friend of mine does Historicals and has said he thinks over time has painted quite a few armies that he just did not want to do, but did because it was a customer with cash.

1) Good call. Will you be doing anything other than epic?
Friend of mine runs a service here in Bangladesh. He finds the most time consuming aspect is cleaning models so charges extra (otherwise a guide to his charges is here).
Time yourself in number of hours (including prep, assembly, cleaning, everything) and materials (paint, flock, whatever) otherwise you could be shortchanging yourself in price.

2) Thats nice :)

3) Always important!

Good luck on this project & indeed with the commission jobs.

I've learnt a lot since I went into it full-time a couple of years ago - there's a big difference between it being a good few extra pounds in the pocket & making a really viable business out of it. If you want some tips on running a painting service & the hazards you may encounter, drop me a line.

You could even ask tuffskull if he needs another painter on the team if he likes your work (that way you avoid all the business aspects :) ).

Well done! Looks nice and the time needed was reasonable.

I still believe you should also do one you are less then excited to do. There is a diferance between doing something for yourself and doing something you are less then excited about.

But that is just my .02
