Im wondering if anyone has experience with this Javelin98 Shapeway store? Specifically, this APC: http://www.shapeways.com/model/604546/6mm-armadillo-v4.html and this VTOL: http://www.shapeways.com/model/876358/6mm-vtol-gunship-x3.html I was thinking that those APCs would be a great chassis to combine with Exodus Wars turret bits, such as IFV and APC, Flame and AA turrets. I dont know much about ordering these types of vehicles. Is there a recommended material to order for them, such as White & Flexible, etc? Last silly question: Do these look 6mm to you? Its just about an inch tall...2.8cm...sounds about right? http://www.shapeways.com/model/79552/terran-combat-walker.html http://www.shapeways.com/model/87037/terran-assault-walker.html http://www.shapeways.com/model/76867/terran-scout-walker.html |

Interesting store. I haven't bought any of his stuff. Items i get from Shapeways i usually choose white and flexible. It is reasonable cost wise and reasonably durable. The walkers look a bit big but then i suppose it depends on what you want to use them for. |

Is there one material that is smoother than another, less grainy? It would suck to order some mechs that came out looking like they were chiseled out of wood. |

I ordered a 6mm Ratte in sandstone. Bad mistake. It was brittle and very grainy. It was of course considerably cheaper than other options (about half the price). I have fliers and vehicles in polished white and flexible that arent grainy. I am happy with them. |

I know that several people on the board use FUD for printing the products as part of the mastering process for their products. I've used it myself for some 6mm APCs and was quite happy with the results. Not cheap mind you. |
