A valiant effort! I can tell there’s a turd under there :P Strange, I never received anything less than stellar from an Antipodean source.

Those are pretty soft details. I do like the chevron on the antenna though

I did at first, but some later items were a lot less well cast, quite a lot of pitting and loss of detail... my assumption is that they changed caster towards the end

And I agree with elsmore, you have very much made the best of a poor model Jimmy!

Of all the Heavy Bombers used by the Imperial Navy's Aeronautica Imperialis, the Marauder Colossus is the most rare. Unlike the standard Marauder it is specialized to perform extreme high altitude strategic bombings of heavily fortified structures such as bunkers and more extensive subterranean facilities as well as strategic assets such as central HQ and even ultra heavy targets.

Due to the high cost and specialized training of the aircrews, the aircraft is usually based on an orbiting starship. However during the prolonged Devada campaign, Imperial Navy airbases were established across the narrow T'chon sea on the Paravin Secundus continent. Flying under the protection of Thunderbolt squadrons, it was not uncommon to find them paired with the equally rare Marauder Vigilant strategic reconnaissance platform.

The Marauder Colossus forgoes the use of a multi-bomb payload in favor of a single, massive guided Melta-based Colossus Bomb of overwhelming destructive capacity. The bomb's Melta Warhead is initially triggered capable of destroying heavily armored targets while the secondary explosive is detonated milliseconds later reducing anything left in an explosion whose yield is equal to that of a small, tactical nuclear blast. The weapon is even an effective Titan killer, the very first god-machine to be felled in Warzone Palavin due to a direct strike on a traitor Reaver class titan.

Painter's Notes:
Finally nabbed an intact non-crappy FW Collosus after all these years. I mean, yea they're useless in Epic but they're SO COOL. Really wanted to give a WW2 European Air War vibe on this guy so lots of panel lining, wear on the airframe, and of course that classic 2 tone paint job (Tan and Desert yellow on the top, greys on the bottom.

On the eve of the Feast of the Emperor Ascendant, the great ships of Lucius, also known as "The Hollow Forge", arrived bearing their resplendent crimson and tan livery against the hulls made of their unique rare alloy, scorched black by their artificial sun within the planet in the ritual known as the "Solar Blessing".

And with them came their vast Secutarii forces and the titans of the legendary Legio Astorum...

Finally the last of the FW buildings of ill repute done, gone, finished, good enough. Thanks to otter for gifting these years ago. Glad to of finished them.

Tried to do something a bit different with the roof with some type of old copperish style. Went straight at it with VMA cockpit green which I intended to make a deep verdigris. However the rig was under too much pressure and so the paint didn't transition at all. I mean 0 zilcha nada.. I mean ... Just laying on it thick. Whoops. Complete cockup. To make matters worse, it reacted oddly with the stone grey base and just spackled horribly.

Thought to myself, "Fine I'll just blow some liquitex burnt umber ink and simulate the darkened lines by spraying the edges instead of highlight the middles". Kinda a post shade vs preshade to correct things. Should calm things down, right?

Well, that color reacted even stranger and brought orange out from the ink (seriously WTF?). Now I have clown paint going on, seriously. Things going downhill quick I pulled out the sin-eraser Vallejo grey wash and tried to beat it back down with multiple passes through the airbrush done as a filter. Otherwise I'm going to have to strip and redo this building and frankly, it's too warped and wonky to really deserve this amount of effort. I just wanted quick and plentiful buildings.

Moral of the story: sometimes you're the dog, sometimes you're the fire hydrant.

Oh and if you're blowing paint, check the regulator.

Honestly, that turned out pretty well for a bronze roof anyway!

The preeminent VTOL Gunship of the Imperial regular forces, the Vulture is operated by the Imperial Navy and attached to Imperial Guard formations as support units. Their high maneuverability and impressive weapons kit allow a variety of missions to be fulfilled: anti-tank, infantry suppression or engaging enemy strong points.

Unlike fixed wing aircraft, Close Air Support units are frequently deployed forward directly with Guard ground units for the duration of the action. Due to their closer relationship than is typical across distinct factions of the Imperial Host, Vulture crews are known to become idiosyncratic over time such as displaying personalized murals and nose art such as can be seen here with the 231st Vulture Attack squadron aka The Stingers.
