Hi all, seeing the popularity of the Necs, I realise I'd forgotten to present my emicomp entries. Here's the old Monolith. I went for a flat and large steeped pyramid look instead of the taller GW design. The bits are non-standard stuff, parts of plastic electric switch mouldings from a local company - being a lecturer in the faculty of engineering provides one with a lot of bits! This can easily be reproduced with thick plastic, however, or wood, with plasticard for details. The top part is obviously one of my keyboard buttons. Not seen clearly at the bottom is a Necron-y (Necrotic?) transparent green bit from (of all things) a white-out tape dispenser. The flying base fits into this. For colours I opted for black with heavy brass drybrush, and some unintelligible yellow text weathered with flesh wash. ![]() ![]() |

Now for the Pylon. The base comes from a 1/76 scale Matchbx tank kit. The pillar is another electric switch from the same source, but can again easily be constructed from plastic or wood sections and detailed. The arc of the Pylon weapon is part of a car windscreen wiper, whilst the green bits are standard 40K warrior weapon bits. The hinge for the weapon is a 40K acessory sprue vehicle weapon mounts, and the 'dish' for the weapon comes from an old spaceship kit. |

The larger version uses a full windscreen wiper and yet another switch. The board is an old place-mat. The base was sprayed matt black and the flexible plastic sheet with printed circuit off the keyboard I'd scrapped was glued to the base to provide a Necron-circuit appearance. A smmother base would have proved better. I hid the glue spots under other plastic bits stuck onto the base to represent buildings and devices which look a bit like circuit components. ![]() The stunt Rhinos, by the way, are Sam and Eric, a useful pair of workhorses. |

I said it before, I'll say it again: I really love your Monolith. It's kind of creepy... perfect for the Necrons. ![]() |
