Hi,
here are some new picture of my Necron army. Most of the minis are not completely finished yet and none of them are painted. I'm missing some components to finish them, and it's very frustrating because I have bought them but must wait for them to arrive (for example, I can't complete my Orb because I'm missing 1 Jackal !!!).
Anyway, let's start with a quick picture of the "Monoliths" and "Obelisks" (actually, the front parts of Scythe Cruisers and Dirge Class Raiders )
Aeonic Orb, part 1: the stand. For the top part, I used: a 20x20mm stand, the pyramid from a Shroud Class Cruiser, and greenstuff.
Aeonic Orb, part 2: the Orb itself. This one is a bit more complicated. It is composed of: - A large flying base, glued on top of a 6cm circular stand (for Titans and such); - 8 Jackal Class Raiders (well, only seven at the moment ) - a jack (that's what I found in my dictionary, not sure if it makes sense at all???), from the game of p?tanque.

Aeonic Orb, part 3: the Orb in one piece. I'm quite happy with the fact that it is just about the size of a Titan.
Now for the other beast: the Abattoir (damn, I love that name! I'm French, so it is very evocative to me ). I've been thinking about this one for ages, and I finally decided to use plastic stands piled up to look like a pyramid.
First stage : building the different levels.
One of my main problems was that GW stands come only in 4 sizes : 20, 25, 40 and 50mm. As you can see, I you just pile tem all together, the levels of the pyramid are of irregular sizes, which ruins the effect. I tried using stands from other manufacturers, but none of them has the same thickness, and it looks just as bad.
Then something clicked and I realized that I could combine them so that they would become progressively smaller.
Since it's a bit difficult to explain, here's a picture:
Here, as you can see, the different sizes are: - 80x80mm (40+40) - 70x70mm (25+20+25) - 60x60mm (20+20+20) - 50x50mm - 40x40mm (not on the picture) - 25x25mm (not on the picture) - 20x20mm (not on the picture)
Once put together (with some greenstuff to fill up the holes), it looks like this:

Now perhaps you're thinking, "Well, that's fine, but what about the feeders?". Here again, I had to think hard about it, and found a solution by pure chance as I was buying some stuff on the GW online store: in the right column, I saw those nice Dark Eldar Jetbike Chains and again, something clicked. ?
So I ordered 10 of them here they are now: (Abbatoir from below)
(Abattoir from above)
Obviously, 10 chains wasn't enough, and I'll need 20 more to cover the whole circumference of the Abattoir. But I like it already !
EDIT: I forgot to mention that on top of the Abattoir I'll put a pyramid, probably from a Shroud Class Cruiser again, just as I did for the Orb.
And finally, a picture of the two Necrons War Engines together:

Wow, Hojyn, that is fantastic work. Very creative! I can't wait to see them all painted.

VERY nice.
One day I might actually post picutres of mine.
I'm glad you like the Abattoir name. I'm fairly proud of that one. In fact, the name came first, and the unit created to fill out the concept the name implies.

Hoyjn,
Extremely impressive! It's hard to decide which one I like best, but the Orb is hand's down just awesome.
Makes me want to trash mine and start over...

The Aeonic Orb is superb. I doubt the yet to be sculpted official model will look better.
