Looking for input/suggestions for gorgonzola styled proxies out there. Similar to MoK, I have been working on a modular guard collection, one of which was a DKoK force. I originally planned on using 6 of a friendly water mammal's crass little figures of which I only acquired 3 due to my own procrastination and I'll leave it at that. I'm not really ready to throw in the towel just yet so I figured I'd see if anyone has an idea from a 3rd party line that would work. 1. Needs to fit more in the 1/285 vs 1/300 size range. I like my super heavy tanks to look, well, super heavy. I've got a butt load of OOP FW sized tanks and not looking for them to get lost. 2. GW collector range need not apply 3. 6mm is not required provided it looks plausible in comparison 4. Style is not important. It doesn't need to look like a you know who's design So anyone got a good bead on something that'll do? Skulking around EW and DRM and Spartan lines but didn't notice anything. |

I am in a similar position. There is a DIY Gorgon guide on http://www.epicollector.com/ under miniature projects. Instead of butchering an old MkII Gorgon I am thinking plasticard and greenstuff. |

What about a 1:144 scale LVT-4 historical mini, would look similar (but troop loading at back not front) and might be around FW SHT size? |

Exodus Wars is releasing the Gaia transport in September. Its a MKII Enforcer chassis with a large transport section and dozer blade. It has a turret slot featuring the Cyclops heavy mortar. If you are looking for a heavy transport it might come in useful... |

Neat! Got a render handy and perhaps a general timeframe, Tom? ![]() |

You could do what I did, and take a ForgeWorld shadowsword, chop the front of the hull off (leaving the tracks) then take an Epic40k boxset landraider, chop off the front from the start of the sponsoons, file off the tracks then slot that into the hole left in front of the shadowsword. You now have a properly sized SHT with an assault ramp/door on the front. replace the shadowsword gun with a small, stubby mortar like gun (I use one of the Exodus Wars ones) to represent the limited barrage they have and, bar having to use greenstuff to fill in any of the joins, you're done. |

I've seen them, they are indeed nice gorgon proxies, I doubt there is any paint on them yet though, is there Mike? |

God no, I don't actually even know where they are at the moment other than " somewhere in a box in the garage". Perils of moving home I guess. |

With all the recent activity in 10mm Sci-fi I'm sure something suitable can be found amongst them? |

I reckon some of the FoW armoured transports could be suitable candidates..... I know very little of real world military stuff, MikeT might know the ones I'm talking about, after all it was his idea to use them as possible gorgon proxies.... |

FoW being 15mm may be a bit big but would could work I guess. |

it was about the size of a FW super heavy, had tracks and a big open topped armoured troop compartment, I'm fairly sure it was a german vehicle but my knowledge runs out there...... |
