Guys, can't seem to get my head round the chaos lists, i fancy painting some iron legion (i think) but i'm not sure how they fit in with demons, etc - also, how many bases do i need for a basic marine detachment? RTJ |

off top of my head, 8 units is the standard size for a chaos detachment. as for the iron warriors(?), fluff wise i dont think they have much to do with deamons, but thats 40k scale fluff. there is bound to be some sort of deamonic inflence on the battlefield at epic scale. but i am not an expert. |

Just read Storm of Iron and Dead Sky Black Sun. I would not include much in the way of Daemons but they do use them. |

I'm (eventually) going to put together an Epic Iron Warriors army. It'll have one Retinue detachment, lots of Havocs, lots of armour (Land Raiders), lots of Obliterators (I'm in favour of a totally seperate Iron Warriors list for Epic where you can take a detachment of Obliterators), a Banelord, some Hell Talons, and on top of that, an Artillery detachment. Now you can't take that in the Black Legion List, I'm in favour of giving Epic Iron Warriors Artillery detachments consisting of 6 units - either vindicators, defilers, or Basilisks. If you wanted to keep it legal within the BL list, just take lots Obliterator and Havoc upgrades, plenty of Defilers (to represent artillery) and forget about Daemons, Raptors and Bikes. As for painting, shouldn't be too difficult, Silver with gold trims, that's why I chose to do Iron Warriors - that, and that I think they're the best of the traitor legions! ![]() |

Tj, Iron Warriors are my thing. I have a fan list for them, that I can send you. I have included some specific things to add some flavour to them. They have a siege ability, some serious guns to destroy fortifications and have limited fast attack capabilities in the list. Lost of marines is the way to go with plent of armour support. I gave them Basilisks, as per their 40k list. Vindicators as they are from the old CSM list Titanicus days and Daemonic artillery as per the fluff from Strom of Iron. PM me if you would like it. It is due for an update in line with changes to the CSM 3.7. i am currently putting together a Iron Warriors Great Company based on the old SM Regimental format, except that instead of six battalions, it has eight in aline with chaos. Oh and a titan legion to go with it, Legio Mortis from the siege on Terra. 30 Titans and building. Yes I am mad. Cheers CAL ![]() |

CAL i would interested in getting a copy of your list - i don't want to go the whole hog, i'm starting this so i can introduce a friend to the game - and he likes chaos! was also wondering whether you can still use chaos squats and beastman - and if you can have them with iron warriors? does anyone want chaos squats? does anyone mix them in with marines to bulk them out?! shows how much i know! Hi My friend Jim uses his Chaos Squats as Iron Warriors!! he had been struggling for ages to find a paint scheme for the Chaos Squats that he liked. He tried out some boltgun metal and they came out great. Very shooty. Cheers James |

Well this could be kind of fitting since we are dealing with CSM here, how would you create/model an Alpha Legion force for Epic? |
