Right. So I have started putting together my Necron army, beginning with the Destroyers.

By the way, on the off chance some of you can read French, I've compiled most of the ideas for scratch-building a Necron army on this THREAD on the Warmania forum. It is a bit long and I'm too lazy to translate it, but if you're interested and don't understand something, please ask and I'll do my best to explain/translate.

OK, back to the Destroyers.

Here's what you'll need:

Destroyer :
- WH40K Necron torso
- Epic Imperial Robot (the one that comes on old Imperial Guard sprues)

Heavy Destroyer:
- same thing +
- the end bit of a WH40K Necron Gauss Flayer

It's a simple conversion, really:

- Remove the robot's legs;
- Remove the weapon that's above the head;
- Glue the robot's torso on the 40K torso;
- For a Heavy Destroyer, cut off the very end of the right arm and glue the Gauss Flayer bit to it, otherwise leave it as is.

Here's a picture of the components and of one Heavy Destroyer.

BTW, this is just a simple variation on this conversion (scroll to the bottom of the page).

I like the use of Warp Spiders for Destroyers. They would make great minis for Immortals too, just painted silver.

That's a great idea. :cool:

I was thinking about compiling various tips for modelling Necrons for an Incoming article. Would it be ok to use your post as well as the pic for that? You'll of course be fully credited :;):

Thanks to you all.

WN, go ahead and use all you need, of course ! If you want me to translate part or even all of it, I can do it. I didn't do it at first because I wasn't sure people would be interested.

And I''ll try to take better pictures anyway (may be if I set the timer on the camera and then put it on a table I can have more stability and hence a less blurry result).

The idea to use a 40k Necron torso is nothing short of ingenious. Simple but very effective!  :cool:

Yeayh... it's not mine, though. :8):

I want to give credit where credit is due and thank Fran?ois Bruntz (see the link in the first post of this thread) for his great idea. I only modified it a bit.   :cool:
