Im still working off Epic 40k lists, why no chaos vindicators or Razor backs? Is there fluff against them?

Vindicators are in some chaos lists i believe, razorbacks are post heresy vehicles if i remember correctly so chaos forces do not use them.

Not sure about that but there was an aim to not have the Chaos list just be a duplicate of the SM list.

That said, I love them :-)

I know way back when the Iron Warriors had access to them and other heavy equipment in 40k (not sure about the current EA list but that'd be the best spot for them) but OTOH, nothing stops you from

A. creating a variant list, even if it is intended only for friendly play, it only adds to the game and community
B. using the codex marines list and swap a few units as "count as" (e.g. berserkers for assault marines)
C. straight using the codex marines list period with chaos stands :)

I've actually never used a vindicator in my Epic games

I know over in the The 'new' Adeptus Astartes and you topic there's some discussion about how to "fix" vindi's. I am not sure if any of that has made it into the current lists nor not but OTOH, they're fun to blow crap up with anyways-I keep a detachment in my minotaurs!

In one of the books i read with Iron Warriors they had a crap ton of Vindicators.. so yes i would say chaos space marines would have them available. But unless you where Iron Warriors i would say they where a bit rare. Iron Warriors just love big guns.

The read corsairs list has chaos vindicators. As i understand it that list is designed to represent a more 'modern' force, more broadly in line with recent 40k lists.

Given that Imperial forces had Vindicators during the HH I can't see why Chaos can't. As others have mentioned, I'm also pretty sure Razorbacks were post HH.

I have chaos vindicators in my collection, so some of my chaos marine forces will have vindicators.

Yes you are right. The previous W40K Codex CSM had Vindicators as a 0-1 choice for Iron Warriors only.

The current abomination of a Codex CSM (which as Apoc states better represents renegade Space Marines rather than one of the original HH legions- hopefully that will be rectified in the forthcoming Chaos Legions Codex) allows any CSM force to have up to 3 Vindicators as heavy Support choice.

The Razorback is definitely a post Horus Heresy vehicle, so "loyalist" SM only.

Cheers

James
