Post subject:  1st Squat Force - The ROLAND Brotherhood
The 1st of my Squat units - The ROLAND Brotherhood. Based on SM1 Squat TO&E/List. Image The Squat Tactical unit has 5 Infantry stands + 1 Hvy Wpns stand ... Image Image Bezerker Assault Detachment (5 stands) ... Image Thunderer Hvy Wpns unit (3 stands) ... Image Hearthguard (2 stands) in camo smocks ... Image Exo-Armor (2 stands) camo'd ... Image Living Ancestor/Psyker (1 stand) ... Image I used G/W Washes, I swear by them !! The flags are from various sources ... Dwarf Man'O War ships, WWII decals, etc. ... I will add Exodus Wars Khazari throughout my Squats. And will even have pure Khazari units. They count as Squats and are organized the same. Tom told me more Khazari are coming out. And I'll add those to my Squat forces as released ...

Thanks for the comments !! The "Welsh Flag" was a WWII Decal I had ... IIRC it's the UK 12th Army in Burma & Malaya ... The Dragon is a symbol in Nordic mythology, like it was seen on the bow of Viking ships. I think most will agree that many of the Squat names, fluff, etc., are Nordic/Germanic in flavor ... So that's theme I'm going for with my Squats. And if you look you'll the UK 6th Armor Div. insignia too ! :D Not really Nordic but Cool !!! ;D

my squats are welsh. it's an easy language to go to for dwarfy names, and not as Space wolfy as Norwegian.

Nice Squats, the infantry are a fun time to paint.

Who sculpted the Exodus Wars Stunties? I got a few and like them too, almost tempted to start another Shorty armies and give one to a gaming buddy and keep the other for myself.

Thanks again Boyz !!! I'm very old school ... back when we started in '90, with SM1, the bases were not flocked ... so we keep to that standard. 8) And I think Bob Naismith sculpted the Khazari. Not sure who is doing the next wave ?

I really love the style of the old squat models, they're really nice sculpts too, and the spiffy paintjobs here make them look all the better! :)

and they mix very well with the EW stuff which is excellent news..... I'm hoping epic:xenos brings the squats back to the mainstream of epic gaming, they were awesome back in SM2...... shame GW tried to kill them off

Bob Naismith did all our Khazari infantry, Martin Baker will be doing the next wave.
