Hi all,
not begun yet, but here's my plot staked out. I'm going the Tzeentchian way, but I'll try to build a model which could, with very simple alterations, be useful for any power - or Chaos Undivided too. I have a vague idea (think grass skirts!), but I have to work on it. My only comment yet is that I'm targetting mad non-sculpting people, like myself.
Cheers all!
:D

ECW??

I have probably spent too long talking too one of my friends who is more of a historical gamer. But the first thought that popped into my head was "English Civil War".

Then I thought about Cromwell and the chaos altar theory suddenly made sense!!
:)
Cheers

James

PS: Sorry- just seen Epic Construction Workshop thread. Please ignore above.

If I ever make a Tzeentch army my high sorcerer will be Cromwell. He's been recommended so much around here...

I don't know - Khorne is the god of war, Khaine is the god of murder.

One thing is for sure, Cromwell certainly isn't the avatar of Slaanesh - banned all sorts of parties, boring bugger. This is what happens when you let someone who can't get laid come to power :(.

He could of course just have been horrendously repressed and actually gone by the name Margaret on the weekends in his later years...

And now - back to visions of Tzeentchian grass-skirted grandeur.....

A picture I have in mind is the depiction in Fantasia of 'A night on the bare mountain' - for the less geriatric of you, this is a Disney interpretation of a set of classical music pieces, with the specific piece mentioned nbeing a menacing bit represented by cavorting demons prancing all over a mountain, the peak of which is a gigantic demon shrouded by its own wings. That's the source for the Tz. Hula Dancer too  (the new Silver Tower I assembled). wonder how this'll work out...

Good morning, students, and welcome to the Tzeentch Home Economics Class. I will be your lecturer for this topic, over the course of which - Master Iblisdrax please switch off your mobile phone - over the course of which we will  cover the intricacies of constructing a war altar to our patron, the Lord of Change.

Let us write down a list of objectives:
1 - build a war altar
2 - make it BIG!
3 - make it simple and inexpensive - lord of change, restricted in cost to loose change

Please write all that down, and once you are ready, I will provide a list of ingredients for the core of the model. Please note that you there, Mr Chaos Undivided, as well as the Nurgle and Slaanesh spies around, and you in the corner Mr. Berzerker, if you're donw with foaming in the mouth, can also build a splendid, if misguided, altar to your lesser preferred entities - just replace - well, you'll see.

Are you ready?
1 x WH40K chaos space marine (CSM) legs
1 x WH40K CSM torso front
1 x WH40K CSM torso back
1 x WH40K CSM back pack
1 x WH40K CSM head (I will use the helm of a Thousand Sons marine)
2 x Epic scale Rhinos (pairs of many vehicle types will do, I have selected, in the interests of pedagogy, to use the commonest form of vehicle)
1 x Cyclops front spikes (not easy to find, but any spiky bits can be used.
1 x sacrificial victim (e.g. Mars bar)

Are you with me? Piett! Write 1,000 times 'All is dust' and present it at my office by 40,000!

Now:
1 - assemble the Chaos Space Marine of your choice, sans arms and shoulder pads.
2 - File detail off the roofs of the vehicles chosen (plastics are easier) to create a flat surface. File away detail off the front as well.
3 - glue the CSM on top of the vehicles, with one foot on each vehicle. Take care to keep the vehicles aligned, by backing them against a straight edge - otherwise when the altar drives off the poor marine will be in SEVERE pain.
4 - glue the spiky bits to the front, over the area filed clear to receive them.
5 - eat the sacrificial victim.

Next class - time to be advised! :p

Good evening, class.
A few more additions: a pair of WH40K CSM arms, and a pair of shoulder pads. But - in order to have some atmosphere, class, a few flames! I chopped off the right hand and added a brazier from the Inquisitor wossname's Throne of Judgement (frantic warding signs!) banner - this can be bought off the GW online store:
Throne Of Judgement Banners
Part Code ?9947010805104 ?Price ??2.00 ?

You get two of these; I used just one; the models left arm was meant to hold a bolter: I found a flame cut off - what? Can't remember, but it might be off an old Orc head or something. You may use the second brazier from the above component instead, or find a flame like part such as a horse tail.

So - full parts list, with alternatives in [] brackets:

2 x Epic Rhinos [Land Raiders]
1 x set of bits for a 40K Chaos Space Marine
1 x 40K Throne of Judgement part, Price ??2.00
1 x flame part [anything suitable, or the second brazier from the above part]
1 x Cyclops dozer blade [Ork battlewagon blades, Chaos spikes, plasticard spikes or blades]

So: no sculpting, cheap, and easy. Theres a question of paint and a few minor additions, of course, but more later. For now: HEEEEEEEEERE'S.......

LIBERTY OF TZEENTCH! ?:p ?:p ?:p

(*SIGHS* I'm in for it now ? )
