Cool work Borka
I think both versions look very nice
the camo variant looks more military
while the blue metallic one has more contrast
difficult decision

Time for an update!

I haven't had a lot of spare time for the hobby lately as I've taken some extra shifts at the hospital and also repainted/wallpapered me and my wifes "hobby room".

Will play my first game of warmaster this friday so will some painting for that and will therefore most likely not make any more epicrelated updates until next week. But anyways before I go dwell into joy of painting 10mm, I thought I'd show you some work I've done on my epic buildings.

I have tried to be creative with the epic 40k sets. They look a bit boring on their own, because they look so much alike. You might have seen two of the houses in some of my reports but here are some closeups and work on some new with mixed 40k parts:

BTW sorry about the light, my wife has put up orange curtains in are hobby room and I forgot to pull them away for the pictures.

house uno:

House two:

House three: Of course very much WIP a lot of walls left, I'm planning on it to be "U" Shaped.
ImageImage

House four: Some kind of manufacturing plant, will have some silos or other appropriate stuff added to it's base one's finished.

My biggest concern with the above is when I'll get the inspiration to paint them. I started painting the first as you can see. While I'm rather happy with how it turned out (the floors aren't finished though) it was just very boring to paint. It's a lot more fun to build them.

cheers everyone!

Well painted! These buildings are very nice, if you actually paint them properly. Something few people (myself included) seem to bother doing.

That's some great scenery, Borka. I especially like the different colored brickwork and cement/granite columns of that multi-storey one.

They look great - couple nice ideas I'm going to
nick
borrow

The fun in painting terrain, at least to me, is adding little details.

An arab carpet here, a brightly colored toy there; perhaps a painting or an unusal wallpaper in one room .. Make it seem like people lived there once.

Agreed, they look good. What are the non-E40k pieces? CoD parts? Also, what colors did you use for numeral uno?

That's a nice idea, i did it a bit. I mean I added walls and stuff, at first did just floors but that looked a bit boring. some more detail might not hurt.
I'd like to arrange a tournament at some day so I will have to finish them at some point. :)

Yeah your right they're CoD parts that I've bought at bits stores. I don't play 40k so I've never had a reason to buy a complete set, but they work quite well for epic if you have spare CoD parts. The walls are the two different kinds of balcony walls/fences and then I've cut one of the window tiles for the doors.

Btw congrats on the netEA chair.
I think you'll do great from what I've seen of your recent tyranid "AC-ing".

cheers everyone!

Hi guys!

Tim for an update. I have finished the FW and complementary pathfinders. Which means I have actually finished my first Tau formation. Yeah to me :D

Here are some pictures of the boys(girls?)

My wifes camera is on a strike so I had to take theses pictures with my phone's camera and it sucks! So sorry for the crappy pictures.

first up are the pathfinders by them self;
with flash

and without

And here is a picture of the whole gang together. Mech FW with skyray and pathfinder upgrades;

I've also started on the next formation which will be my broadsides. I have finished a first test one which I happy with, so this is how the rest will look;

I thinks that's all for now!

cheers everyone!

Hello again!

I haven't had a lot of inspiration to make an update in a while. Inspiration has returned now however, probably because I've started another project. Squats! :D

But first thing first. I've done a bit of work on my Tau also since the last update. Mainly finishing the broadsides, but I've also based a recon group, barracudas and som more flight bases for my skimmers. Second group of firewarriors (with pathfinders) have seen some work as well and below is a WIP picture. I've basically done the bases and done the beige color so brown cloth, faces and the weapons are left.

Image

Now onto the new project. I'm still awaiting 10 sprues worth of infantry and a couple of gyrocopters and have therefore not been able to do as much as I'd liked to have done. I have started though with the infantry I still had access to since the old days. I've based them all, 4 bike units, 4 trikes, two exo-armor guild masters, 4 thunderer units, 7 warrior units and one unit of hearthguard. Not very interesting so I didn't take any pictures of most of them. Below is one picture of the warriors though. I've converted most of the lasgun warriors because I couldn't stand them all having just a single pose, but as a tribute to the old golden days of epic I put one unconverted warrior on each stand.

Image

They will all get a black spray coat tonight as soon as the kids have fallen asleep. I'm really looking forward to painting these guys. Squats were my first army for any GW game so a lot of fond memories. :)

cheers

I love your basing as always. I, too, have fond memories of beating up Squats.

Good to see that your inspiration is back.

I'll call you tomorrow,

Fredmans
