So after quite a hiatus i'm slowly getting back into epic, so I thought... why not start a new army
With all these wonderful new models out there I've chosen exodus wars' guild to be the main stay of my imperial guard army with forgeworld supplying the titans, planes and a few other bits and pieces i'm sure
So, this is the log of the Vengeance 1st Heavy Dragoon Battalion, "The Reborn".
The planet of Vengeance, located in the Ultima segmentum near tau space, was once a populous hive world famed for its mass production of the Incaladion pattern Chimera chassis. During the invasion of hive fleet Kraken the planet Vengeance was overrun. It's mechanised regiments were annihilated and the hives became burning spires, blackening out the skies with smoke.
Along with Griar and Radnar the planet was cleansed through orbital bombardment leaving no trace of the Tyranid invasion. The once luscious planet was now a smoking wasteland, home to nothing but dust.
Two hundred years later, after the nuclear fallout had cleared, Vengeance was terraformed under project Bastion and became one of the new fortress class worlds. These fortress class worlds were designed to be highly defensible as well as grade III forgeworlds capable of producing vast amounts of equipment to secure the region against further Tyranid incursions. Specializing in the production of carapace armour and once again the Incaladion pattern Chimera chassis Vengeance built up new hives surrounding the factory complexes.
The hives of Vengeance were carefully designed with defensive walls, turrets and multiple layers of void shields protecting the hives from weeks of constant bombardment. The airspace above them is protected by phenomenal anti-air cover forcing these massive citadels to be approached by land.
