I,m putting together a Knightworld army for Epic using the brilliant 1/400 scale Gundam Collection models. They are about 2" tall so just the right scale too. Issue is, they are pre-painted and so a bit 'shiny' and glossy to mesh well w/ the grimdark hordes of the epic future. You can see some sample models here - http://forum.zerogunz.com/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=2360

I want to shade them and perhaps matt varnish them to bring those colours down, but am afraid, especially for the many fridge white models I have, that my washes will make them look dirty instead of detailed. I thought about shading w/ light grey or light blue, but perhaps someone has a better idea? I can also use a fine marker to just do the lines between the white armour plates... but then I'd still need a solution for the non-white bots.

Wash one, if it looks bad then wash the wash off.

You don't have to wash with brown, that's just the natural shade for browns, reds, oranges yellows ect.

blue sounds possible - what base is it?
