Has anyone tried making a Marine Crusade Force?
I was painting my latest T-Hawk and it popped into my head. I was thinking of having a single color for the power armor and then having the colors of the chapters involved in the crusade, something like the Deathwatch, but insted of individuals it would be squads, companies, etc....

I think that this involves a number of chapters combined during a campaign. So, in a sector of the galaxy, you might get four companies of Ultras, the seventh company of Dark Angels and the second company of Nova Marines forming one big combat group.
In this case, I believe that the Marines keep their own colours, but add a campaign badge. They won't repaint their armour unless it is very necessary - such as night attacks where yellow may count against them!

Yeah, in old WDs they added these 'Campaign Badges' to some of the studio minis, I remember seeing both Blood Angels and Dark Angels with little blue circles on their greaves, I seem to remember from old background that these are also sometimes added to Titans to aid recognition too, so you can tie in your Titans with ground troops nice and easily...

Oh yes, I remember those from the earliest fluff times. The campaign badges were supposed to be painted on all Imperial Units, including Guard, to denote their participation.
I hadn't heard of repainting armour though... I somehow doubt that Battle Brothers would be very keen to hide their heritage?

I know what you're saying. the "attack of the killa lemon marines" fails to instill fear in my heart... even in the dark!

Hmm, campaign badges would be a little too small to paint. I wonder what would constitute a reason to repaint their armor? Any ideas, beside "Killer Lemons"?

Centurion,

While campaign badges may be too small to paint on infantry, they work just fine on vehicles and larger equipment.
For infantry, use little pennants off of the stand or banner bearers. Modern armor units often use pennants.

if you are looking for badges for infantry then check into companies that make decals for small scale models.
I've seen decals for planes on very small scale aircraft carriers. At 6mm scale, you see very little detail anyway so a commonality of color and location can give the proper visual effect.

Seeker-Meng,
If you can research those small scale decals and get us some URLs or contact points, it would be greatly appreciated.
I'll see about doing that myself. I model 6mm modern aircraft for Mustangs and microarmor gaming and know that I have a folder somewhere with some decal companies listed.
Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak.

-I reckon they might be pretty easy actually, you would just need a small round dot of a contrasting colour on a leg plate.. not too hard, tho perhaps a little boring, painting each one on individually..

I'm still trying to find the manufacturer of those very small decals.
I have, however, just ordered several dry transfer sheets from Andrea.?I got them from Squadron mail order. check them out at:
andrea transfers
I'm planning on using them for Titans.?I bought set 1, the Roman shields and the Samurai set.

I use old Airfix, Roco Minitank etc., HO/OO scale decals left over from my Military Modeling days, as well as some of the smaller G/W transfers. GHQ has some nice sets too, but I've never used them. I've also got decal paper and went to my local copy place and have had some larger decals miniaturized and printed on the decal paper ...
