Hey all, I recently came into a pile o' GW plastic and metal, but some of the models are absurdly complicated. A search on instructions, and Google has failed me. I'm talkin' about the Ork Mega Gargant plastic model, and the Battlefleet Gothic: Imperial Retribution Class Battleship. The former looks complete, and hoo boy. Lots of bits. The latter looks incomplete, but I have no idea what's missing, and how it fits in with what's actually there. Can anyone help or point me in the right direction? I'm not even sure if this is the right forum to post this...! |

I have no idea with the Ork thingy but with the Imperial Battleship I may be of some assistance. I have made a couple and I have one in bitz right now with a coat of green paint on it. So if i can find my camera I may be able to take a photo of said parts. As for putting it together, I just looked at the picture and pre-fit everything together. Now I know the new boxes don't have pictures so that doesn't help much but I think the back and front of the old boxes are online somewhere. |

The Mega Garg is pretty simple. Just match halves where you can & use blu-tac for the preliminary assembly using a picture as a guide. There is some flexibility with the gun placement etc & this is one model in sore need of converting, so go nuts!  Napalm's Mega here is a good one to use for reference: Mega Gargant |

Hi, i thought about your question and don't ever remembering having the need for the Mega's intructions. It's only about 40 pieces but i went ahead and rummaged through my stuff and actually found the instructions for it !!!!  Eerr ? how do i add a file or pic ? it doesn't seem to be workin fer me.. Dang you guys! This forum is awesome. I'm new here, so thanks heaps on your quick replies. @ Angel_of_Caliban, if you're able to take a photo of your Imperial Battleship, I'd be eternally grateful! Let me know if you can post it somewhere, or PM me, and I'll send on my email. I bought a lot of what was labeled as epic scenery, tanks and spaceships, and got what looks to be the majority of the retribution class battleship. It's hard to tell, as it looks similar to a few other of the Imperial fleet. It's clearly missing the sides (the bits with the cannons poking out), and there are a number of other pieces that are really hard for me to figure out what they might be part of. There were also bits of some Man o' War ships (Chaos Dwarf Battlebarge, Dark Elf Black Ark...) and lots of little of things that I'll probably never identify... |

Great minds think alike (mine is just slower) I was just coming back here to do just that. Here's a link to the pieces I'm fairly certain belong to the Retribution. Someone elsewhere told me the cannons / side pieces are plastic and come on a separate sprue that I don't have. Even so, I can't figure out how all these go together. The top-most piece in the center doesn't seem to go anywhere. The left-hand pieces up top that are left- and right-matched also don't seem to go anywhere. It looks like I have duplicate "bridges" shown there in the middle, and the left- and right-matched structure on the upper right is also a mystery. The guns that go atop the "neck" and below the nose of the ship are also missing. ok, this is gonna get confusing... Bottom row, the first 2 pieces are your main hull, they should fir together fairly obviously The next 2 pieces are the engines, with the final two the secondary rudders, the rudders attach to the sides of the engines, the engines to the aft of the ship (you can see one slots on the stick out tab of the aft section) Next row up, you've got the dorsal mount, this runs along the top of the ship and i think can be placed either way round. If memory serves there are locator lugs for it. The two bridges and the angels above them, you use one pair of those 4 (either way round makes no difference) the angel sits on the front of the bridge on the little flat strip. The final two pieces on this row are the left and right sides of the aft section of the ship... it'll probably be easier to glue them on before the engines. Next row... it's a warlord foot from epic and is no way anything to do with the ship... top row, the little wings go on the sides of the aft section of the ship. The aft sections have a little bit cut out in the middle of one of the straight lines where the lumpy bit of the wind goes in (a picture would help here...) Finally the last bit of your picture is the main wings. These go underneath the aft section of the ship and is where the base connects with the ship. You appear to be missing the main rudder (though this doesn't actually leave a wide gapeing hole so you're alright to miss it. And yes your friend is right you have no guns for this ship... The broadsides are empty!!! hope this helps

Do the cruisers come with extras? I think the Retribution needs lo-o-o-ots of extras! |

from memory, the retribution needs 6 weapons batteries and 5 turrets (so the equivalent 2.5 lance batteries). Each cruiser comes with 1 broadside sprue containing 1 pair of weapons batteries, 1 pair of lance batteries and 1 pair of launch bays. so with 2 cruiser packs (so 4 cruiser hulls) you could build your retribution and also a dictator and 2 gothics with one hull spare* *this hull could be made into an unofficial battlecruiser called the jovian battlecruiser IIRC which has 2 pairs of launchbays, name might not be correct though. |
