Emperor's Pride is a wargaming club in Copenhagen, Denmark, mainly focused on 40K.

I joined last November to play Necromunda and this spring we began playing EA. Naturally, I started painting up/repainting my old SM Eldar army, finally deciding to repaint the whole lot.

Here are two pictures from one of my first battles against an IG army. Obviously, I crushed the Imperialist degenerates :)

I've recently finished 3 Wraithlords and have 2 full Guardian Hosts almost ready (minus Farseers and weapon platforms)

I have chosen the old RT style Eldar colour scheme, blue and yellow - YEAH BABY!!!

The Wraithlords:

One of the reasons why my Eldar army has been somewhat neglected (3 Wraithlords since Spring is not much) is my other army. 12 units are already finished and there's much more to come. WIP shots:

I'll try and take more pics next time at the club with terrain and all. Until then you'll have to make due with this.

As far as painting goes, I try and keep things dark and moody to fit my view of the 40k universe. I haven't really painted that much in the past 10 years, so I stick to some basic techniques and try to improve my free hand. There are tanks and jetbikes to paint, lots of surfaces for fun stuff you know ;)

Anyways, I hope you enjoy my contribution so far to the forum - I certainly have enjoyed many of your things!

Cheers,
Thomas

Loving the oldskool vibe going here (you've even got a classic paintpot casually lying in the background) , and the freehand on the Eldar.

I'd love to see more pictures of your Squats. And the terrain - those roads look great.

The road pieces spawned questions on a local forum, so I thought people here might be interested as well.

The roads are made from some kind of adhesive prepainted sheet (the tarmac) stuck on plastic card with some textured sand and then painted. I'll ask what the kind of sheet they've used. We have a terrain committee at the club who makes all the terrain. I just show up and play :).

The Squats needs highlighting and detailing, but I promise to take new pics when they are done. It's funny 'cause all the WIP pics are from today at around noon, just in different positions on my table.

I'd be interested to know how your club-mate painted their Leman Russ tanks...it may just be a trick of the light, but they seem to resemble to "Green-Gray" that GW used on their 40k Vostroyan vehicles.

Looks like Fortress over Codex to me. The Vostroyans could probably be done with 1:2 Rotting Flesh mixed with Fortress over Codex...

Thanks for the comments!

Unfortunately, I had forgotten my camera last time I went to the club, but I'll provide pictures of the roads next time around.

The roads are made from some kind of pre-painted road for model train scenery. You can buy it on rolls (?) by the meter and stick it to basically whatever. My buddy at the club stuck it some plastic card, applied textured sand with a black coat, then drybrush and a little bit of flock. Easy as it sounds but with great result!

Since last time, I've been painting up some Eldar infantry, finishing the guardians hosts and a troupe of swooping hawks.

Eldar WIP: I've based and begun base coating a host of vehicles incl. 3 more wraithlords (oh yeah, as well as buying a new dresser at ikea) - more of this to come:

Exarch WIP: Also I've assembled some dark reapers, dire avengers and fire dragons and begun making individual exarchs for each aspect type. First attempt is this swooping hawk exarch stand:

My squats are getting highlights and details while the eldars are drying, so hopefully I can soon produce some photos of them as well.

Since my old eldar army was undercoated in black, I've kept the black base colour and built up on top of that, finished with crisp drybrush for highlights. The crispness might not come across that well on the photos, but my approach covers the fact that many of the stands have painted before (making this their third and fourth coat). Some of them was even varnished with gloss enamel :o The larger models like the wraith guards and the vehicles are shaded and have washes applied to give the colours more richness (especially the yellow and gold).
