Tony and I were talking this week, and we discussed 6mm Sci Fi.

Or rather, we didn't, because neither one of us knows much about it at all. grin

We know that there's an audience for Epic, and that the enthusiasts for that game don't feel GW has supported them much.

We know that there are other microscale SF games out there, but we don't know much about them.

We'd like to know a lot more.

Can the forum give us a picture of what's out there, what the rules systems are, who plays what etc?

Any good websites or resources to look at?

I've posted my 2c, others might be interested to join in.

Go beg them for terrain.

It's the one thing that every 6mm sci-fi gamer needs, shedloads of cityscapes.

I have not been to the link yet ... But IMO ... There are enough 6mm Sci-fi AFVs, Infantry & Aircraft ...  Terrain would be what I'd go for ...  :D

Aye plastic building would be unique in the marketplace.

I read the link on WGF and made a few replies ...  And I did say there are already many 6mm Humans ... besides Alien Terrain, if they want to get into 6mm Sci-fi ... They should do more Aliens  :alien:   I recommended off the top of my head - Felids/Cat People, K'hiff/K9 Dog People(not Alder's !), Sci-fi Apes, and Sci-fi Egyptians ...   But if it takes WGF to do any of these as long as it's taking the 6mm Andriods ... I don't think we have anything to look forward to this decade ...

Heh. I'm guessing the genesis of the question: "we've put a fair amount of thought and work into these 6mm androids, and we now know a good deal more about the specifics of 6mm design... how can we make this investment mature?"

FWIW I think you're right that buildings are a fairly good way to go, mainly because it would fit with their general strategy of modular casting -- multi-use base sprues and accessory sprues.

Overall, I'm fairly impressed with their business -- 6mm was not their core line, so we've seen them at their weakest.  But their rate of production at 28mm has increased sharply over the course of the year, and it could be that they'd be able accelerate into a 6mm line as well.

Yep, as I said, with all the 6mm Sci-fi out there ... well over a dozen companies or so.  Unless they do aliens, as I suggested, which I doubt, 6mm Alien Terrain is my vote ...   :alien:

Yeah, I'd like to see some terrain, too. Given all the buildings I have from AT, SM1, SM2 and TL I really don't need more, but other pieces of terrain would be handy.
