Well since everyone else on here seems to have one, I figured it was time enough for me to pull out my camera from it's broken, battered depths to share what I've been working on with everyone. There's a few sheer buckets of plastic and pewter to go through, but I've mostly been working on my Epic Orks myself.

Starting off is my Warboss stand I've finished off. I'm not quite sure what clan I'm working on, but Bad Moonz seems to be my current theme, probably with whatever odds and ends I like.

And some grots to soak the shooting!

Orks are pretty much perfect for experimenting with on paintjobs, and Onyx's Orks are among some of the best I've seen. And since I happen to have Woodland Scenics liquid pigments on hand, I decided to try it out on one of my Mekboy Stompas. He was basecoated in Mithril Silver with details and extra colors worked in, and then a few layers of Burnt Umber were slapped on. I think I perhaps that I added too much Burnt Umber perhaps, as it looks like a walking rustbucket.

Edit: Wow those are big. I should learn to edit photos better.

Great paintwork on these guys. I actually really like the rusty look on your stompa, very much what I would expect unprotected metal to look like when exposed to the elements..........

I'm actually using it as a Supa-Stompa. I'm using something else for Stompa's, I'll put them up once I'm finished basing them.

Aye, Stompa or Gargant, not quite sure, but that's what it is. Last few pics before I crash to bed. A test-man of my upcoming vet squad for my Imperial Guard. The shotgun's made from a chopped grenade-launcher and two lengths of plastic rod, with a half-pipe of plastic rod slapped on the bottom. I use the flamer left arm as well as a handle for this one, and he isn't the only one. You also can't see it, but on the back is the ammo-drum pouch for the auto-shotgun he's equipped with, but if he goes through the first drum, he's probably got very big problems!! ;D ;D

It's amazing how much more the camera enlarges imperfections on the model. It looks nothing like how grainy the surface is in the pictures, rather smooth in fact. I am a bit stumped as to what else as for other color to add to the models, any suggestions? A good coat of wash does a lot of help, but it tends to work better when there's more to work with.

Hey TwilightWalker, love the Orky stuff.

I quite often do the rusty effect as you have and then do the painted areas (the checkered area and the head) after and wash them with Woodland Scenics black. This helps the paint stand out from the metal and gives a bit of contrast.

Keep up the great work mate!

Cheers,
Steve.

Aye, I'll probably do that from now on. As I said, I got the idea from you!

Moving onward, I do believe I promised a pic of my Stompas. Surprise surprise, these are not normal Stompas from any of the recent lines. I'm told they are Ye Olde Rogue Trader Tinbots/Runtbots. Whatever they are, they make really neat E:A Stompas, and everything fits in fine with the scale.

I now have pictures of a few of my spacecraft for BFG, but since I'm throwing them into the GothiComp, not quite sure if I can put them up for public display...

Time has passed, and I've finished up a Battlewagon:

But thought it was a bit..bland. So for my next one, I'm experimenting on Epic-scale verdigris. If you look reaaaaaally closely, you might see some other mini's that I'll be experimenting on!

Currently, It's been done with a base of GW Shining Gold, over which a glaze of P3 Turquoise Ink. After that dried, I followed through with a heavy drybrush of GW Tin Bitz to darken it off some more and put in further weathering, then inked more turquoise into the edges and cracks before a final drybrush of shining gold. Opinions?

Trying another imagehost now. Since I uses Picasa for by basic editing, figured might as well try the webhosting. Took a bit to figure out how to monkey about with it, but works just as well. Onto the Miniatures!

As my orky painting evolves, so should the basing. Expanding out from lava rock basing into actual hot lava on them isn't too hard, just a bit of effort and the need to make a bit of a flat spot is all. I forget what the miniature on the left is called, but I'm using the ones I have as Deff Dreds. On the right you can see a brassed up stompa, which looks a bit better up close. As it is, I'm trying to figure what else I can add to him to keep him from looking like a statue, instead of a stompy war machine.

Oil leaking from the joints, perhaps?

Could be, any suggestions on how to work that in? I have some ideas, but if there's already a tried and proved method, that'd be nice.

Working onward, I've slapped together the basics of an Ork Objective:

Can you guess what it is? ;D

Also been working on a Soopagun, since I don't want to spend the cash for it:
