Hi everybody!

I am sure all of you know the Steam Gargant. Here's a picture:

now I know that some of you were involved in painting some of the E:A miniatures for the rulebook or the GW online store. So if anyone knows how to paint this model so it looks like the picture, please help me out!

I'd really appreciate it very much!

or maybe you can point me to the guy who painted it!

cheers,
M

IIRC, the models from the stormwind book were painted by Tuffskull and Cark Woodrow (of Dropship fame) and they both come here from time to time. I don't know which of the 2 painted this one.

IIRC Tuff painted the majority of the Eldar army excluding most of the superheavies, revenants and the phantom, which were painted by Carl. I'm less certain about the Feral Orks: at least some of it is painted by Carl, but tbh the Steam Gargant doesn't look like either of their painting style, so I'm guessing it was done by someone from the Eavy Metal Team.

A rough guess for the basecolor would be a brown like scorched brown, layered up with a mix of camo green and grey and ending up with something like rotting flesh for the highlights. Most metal parts are done with a base of Tin Bits with mixes of tin bits and a metal color like mithril silver (you can regulate how sharp highlights you want with washes)

Add some rusty patches and pick out details in bright colours and it would be relatively close I think... but it really boils down to painting technique and mixing ratios to get a result exactly like that I think.

Whoever did the gargant likely painted the Warlord Titan too. Both models are unique with that odd crosshatch style on the plates.
